I have spoken with Orangeburg Dragstrip and they are going to let me hold the event at their track. It will be on Saturday July 17, 2010. We have the ECPRA confirmed with both Pro Stocks and Pro Mods running. We also have a confirmation from Unlimited Street East to be there. We will have 2 or 3 bracket classes as well. The Friday night cruise in will be held at another location this year. It will be much closer to the track and more conducive to cruising. And of course my band will be playing. I will update www.vwdragnight.com with the new info after I post the results from the event. I have been waiting on Hot VW's to print the story so they can have first crack at the story since they were kind enough to make the trip over. Dean informed me that the feature will be out in a few months. This is the site for the drag strip. They have a very intense tech inspection so make sure your cars are up to the IHRA rules. How bout rule 34. NO LUG NUTS if your running slicks LOL... 34. ALL CARS RUNNING ANY TYPE OF SLICKS MUST HAVE AT LEAST ONE DRIVE SHAFT LOOP, ALSO HUB CAPS, CENTER CAPS, ALL LUG NUTS AND BEAUTY RINGS MUST BE REMOVED BEFORE RUNNING YOUR CAR.

Gene Cook vs Tim Vinkuns. Sure its a street car, but its fast. Tell Tim to take some boost out of it and you have a bunch of guys who uses to run back in the day, east coast points series together having some real fun!

FASRNU Race team wants to be the first sponsor, when the time comes for it. $$$$ award for the furthest distance traveled, mapquest printout required. And we will have 2 cars there to race.

i will get the sponsorship info out later. still trying to nail down all the details first. i know one thing. there will be a cookout at my house friday for anyone who is in town. i will get some more ideas posted soon. i really enjoyed hanging out with everyone and hope to do more of that next year.

Looks like we're booking a house at Folly Beach for the week on the sand! I cant wait.
If anybody is looking to stay for any extended vacation time I would suggest looking sooner than later. We've done lots of research and talked to Scott and this looks to be one of the best economical places to stay on the beach and very close to Friday nights activities. $3000 for the week, sleeps 10-12 with garage parking for 2 race cars, screened-in porch, hammochs, hot tub, outside private shower, etc. 2 blocks from the pier, resturaunts and night life.

great to hear that gavin! i might put together a friday lunch cruise out to the beach and meet up with you there. i am hoping to do more things outside of the race. i really enjoyed the "hanging out" time last year and getting to meet so many different people. more to come!
