From what I can remember, she was alot better looking then you, and more likely to bring people into the grilling area, not chase them away.Let her model the new tank top shirt that you WILL!!!!!!! have to have for the show, to give a preview.

isn't that the objective of wife hunting?  better looking than me was tough to find though!  i will have tanks this year!

Hey Scott, would love to attend again, just looking at track location too, Where is the best airport to fly into from CA. Host hotels yet? Gavin, the beach house thing sounds great too. Saving my money and hope to have my other car running by then.

I think we should get a few people together an get a house on the same block as gavin!  Enough people and it would cost about 300 a person for the week, plus food an what not. A good hotel can cost you that for two nights

well columbia sc is the closest airport.  but i would still fly into charleston and stay here if you are planning on coming over for the cruise in and other whatnot!  i have not determined a host hotel yet.  i need to get on that.

i like scott's idea.  get a beach house for the week and make a nice beach vacation out of it.

I'm so jacked about this trip. I think my brother and his girlfriend are even gonna come out for a few days.
We're renting listing #62849 on the VRBO.com website. You can google map it. The house is 2 blocks from the pier at Folly Beach. Scott also said its less than 10 minutes from his house. Theres also a water park within 5 minutes of the pier for the kids. Tons of resturaunts and shops.
There are still lots of nice places in that area available for that week, most are Saturday to Saturday rentals.

Hey Scott, do you know the location of the cruise-in spot for Friday night?
And is the host hotel going to be at the La Quinta Inn again? We are going to need a hotel for Friday night.

If anyone has any questions about the beach area where we are staying feel free to e-mail me. We've done a ton of research on the area for the past week.

Orangeburg raceway seems to be about an hour south of Midway dragway.  How far is orangeburg from La Quinta Inn?  How far is Orangeburg from where Gavin is renting and the friday or saturday activities?

The racetrack at Orangeburg is 98.1 miles from Folly Beach which looks to about 1 hour and 53 minutes.

Also looks like Trickie Rickie Smith just set the track record there at 3.90 something. I have a friend thats been there and he said they have put a lot of money in that track the last few years.

Check out their website.

Maybe try an make the host hotel somewhere in the middle of orangeburg and the festivities?  Maybe favor the activities spot an have the hotel about 30 mins south towards the track. I rather drive 30 minutes after a night of partying and 1.5 hours to the track in the morning.  Anyone else have an idea???

I wouldn't call it south as much as I would west. It's about the same distance from Orangeburg to Charleston, add maybe 10 minutes of driving time. Orangeburg is closer to I-26 and Midway was closer to I-95. If you stay in Charleston, it's gonna be an hour and a half ride to the track. But, I'm sure we'll all most definitely like it better, I just wonder how big the mosquitoes will be this year!!!

friday night's cruise in will end at the wild wing cafe on rivers avenue.  it is closer to the track than last years spot.  i will try to find a host hotel closer to that area or we can stay at the la quinta again and make the cruise for the USE guys from there to the wild wing.  orangeburg is all interstate driving which will make it faster to get there than last year.  i would suggest that we use the la quinta in the north area and that will be closer to everything and a lot cheaper.  gavin i would get a motel either where we were last year or in the north area.  let me know what you think and i will find out what will be best.

Last year we stayed in Summerville, about maybe 1/2 hr to the new track location, about 45 minutes to where the host hotel was. I just don't want to be driving all over the world with a car caravan thats split up into 10 different bunches, even if scottie is certified  in traffic control.

Hey John,  good to hear from you. You'll have to come down to the beach at least for a day. Ernie will be there also and i' m sure Noel will let us borrow his welder again. We're coming with everything we need this year blender, full cooler, and welder. Haha

To many Scotts in this thread. Haha.  That guy originally meant Sain would have a map printed up so we don't caravan an get lost. You were talking about me, getting out of the truck directing traffic.  Now back on topic....

There is also cabins at Santee State Park in Orangeburg county. I remember going there when I was in High School. It's looks just as beautiful now as it was then...bout 23 years ago. It's on lake Marion which boasts some very good fishing!

All 4 of us at one time? I don't think Scott Sain can handle that !! South Carolina will never be the same once we leave.
