Rockingham Dragway is having a VW drag race, car show, and swap meet August 7th. East coast 1/8th mile racing with Super pro, Pro, and Sportsman classes. Gates open at 9am, time trials at 10am, racing and show judging at noon. Steve Earwood continues to try and give us another place to race our VW's so it would be nice if we can support this event. The track web-site is rockinghamdragway.com. the race hotline is 910-582-3400. Hope to see to see you there!!

Will it be better than last year? I dont want to be running pro or super and have to run a 10 sec. street car. I thought that was a joke last year.

Isn't that what bracket racing is all about, your time vs his time, whatever it is?

yea, but thats why they separate the classes. In that case why have classes. Then why not make it run what u brung then. I understand what you are saying but rules are rules and should be enforced. So should I be able or can I to run in street class!!!!

I would see where if there aren't enough cars in one class, street pro, super pro then combine the 2 classes and the purse as well, don't make it 2 classes, one payout. That would suck.

I am right there with you junkyard I was there last year and remember that happened. On the other hand I have the same problem only backwards. My car at the first of this year was only capable of running sportsman numbers, but I have made some improvements and now it runs quicker mid pro numbers. A few of the guys running sportsman complain that I need to move up a class but the problem is I will lose all my pints.

Yeah I have a throttle stop and have used it before. Its just hard when you know the car is capable of so much more.

Yea I can understand if there are not enough cars then combine. There are alot of cars that are on the borderline but when a car doesnt has a snowball chance in hell to run in the next class thats the probably i have. I have to run my car alot harder to catch a 10 sec car has to a 8.20 car

are time trials really starting at 10? i thought they don't usually start cars until 12? i mean i love the idea of starting early. that track is hot! but it's a great one.

Rick Laws of Millers Creek won the Valley Auto World VWs at The Rock Sportsman category Sunday and also took top honors in the winner’s bonus race, featuring winners of all three drag racing classes. Driving a 1970 Karmann Ghia, Laws wasn’t the fastest competitor but the most consistent, winning his class over Brandon Miller of Salisbury in the Sportsman final. Laws ran an 11.886 elapsed time at 56.31 mph when Miller left the starting line too soon and redlighted. Trey Sikes of Cordovan and Gabriel Mann of Lawrenceville, Ga. were the semi finalists. Mike Gagnier of Troutman won Super Pro over Corbett Marshburn with a time of 7.068; 94.97 mph on a dial in of 6.98 to Marshburn’s losing 6.984, 99.91 mph on a 6.92 targeted time. Steve Martinez of Wilmington won Pro over Tony Miller of Rockwell, 7.618 seconds on a 7.58 dial to Miller’s 7.702 time on a 7.64 dial in. Trey Sikes was the sole semi finalist. Laws easily defeated Gagnier in the winner’s bonus round when Gagnier’s VW rail spun and then missed third gear. Hansel Jones’ Fayetteville based 1973 VW Beetle won the Valley Auto World “Best of Show” in the all VW car show. Photo Gallery: http://www.gmaxpromedia.com/gallery/...ock/aug7/pics/

I'm pretty sure Mike Smith was the lone semi finalist in pro. He lost to Steve on a double break out.
I've got to admit that when the tree had problems and they changed to a pro tree for bracket racing I completely loved it. We should always do the pro tree for dial ins in all classes. Has anyone else ever done that?

typical response from that cock juggling kentucky manpleaser. it doesn't even work there or is it even remotely funny.
it would work better say if gavin were to post "who else wants to feel my swollen scabby cock bruised prostate?"
your mom.
