how many USE races were held last summer?........Is there a reason that they are 1/8th mile?.............Why not run some 1/4 mile races to mix things up a little?

Troy, I plan on running my black turbo 55 at the USE on Drag Night.  More for fun, definitely for support.  See what my VW Paradise 2387 can do in the 1/8 with a tranny geared for the 1/4.  All for fun and for picking on guys from Jersey!

As we said earlier Howard there are no 1/4 mile VW events. We can't just show up at any 1/4 track and do our race. It has to be in conjunction with an established event. That is what our sponsors pay for. We are running two this year. Drag Night July 17th and the Fall Farmington event. Yes they will both be 1/8 mile because that is what the events are. You are more than welcome to join us. Just wear your emotional body armor. I think Anthony made Joe cry last time!!!!!

Awesome Matt I know you have been chomping at the bit to run with us. Most all of us run a 1/4 mile box Matt. There is not that much to gain in an 1/8 mile box only. I'll add you to the list when I get home.

howard was a tremendous support for drag night last year.  he sponsored the event and the street eliminator class.  i for one hope that he can make it down just for the good times.  the racing is secondary to the camaraderie.  and we get to make fun of those jersey goons.

I'm the one that started calling Howards car a USE car, cause thats the specs it was built to, its my fault. While Howard and I disagree on the 1/8 vs. 1/4 mile issue, you will find A LOT of people with the same opinion. Ann Metzger anyone? LOL. Do i wish Howard would come race USE? Hell yea, cause i think his car has the "ass" to be no.1 and look better than anyone elses car while doing it! (I'm a sucker for GREY!!!) That said, I really don't feel like feathers should be ruffled over this because we are ALL great guys, and i hate to think i caused this by "labeling" his car. I too am praying for the day we get a 1/4 mile USE even over here cause im gonna kick the crap outta everyone else that shows up! Carry on....

I'm all in Troy. If anyone has a spare fan shroud and oil cooler laying around please let me know. The puzzle is almost complete. Work sucks right now and funds are short but I'm chipping away at it. Also getting some seat time as well. I will also make the Farmington event.

In all seriousness Howard if you want to race our race come on. No excuses. We have to do with what is available to us.This year it is 1/8 mile.

As far as the guys from Jersey are concerned They are trying to get it cleared with their probation officers to come down for the first race!

In all honesty maybe that is why there wasn't a West Coast event last year. Marty's Outlaw class seems to have been a big deal out there with the 1/8th mile format. The 1/4 mile favors the turbo cars. I dought you will have any NA cars show up. You don't need to be a good driver to win a 1/4 mile event in a turbo car. That isn't racing in my book. I would feel embarrased to have a turbo car and be begging for a 1/4 mile event. Believe me, I used to hate 1/8 mile racing but I have come to love it (and the Pro Tree) because it tightens the field up and everyone has a chance to win. The 1/4 mile guys can argue all they want but they just need to try 1/8th mile racing before they can comment. Try telling the ADRL guys if 1/8th mile doesn't work. That is the most sucessful organization out there right now. Maybe we should look outside the VW world for once and see what works.
As for 1/4 mile box vs. a 1/8 mile box for a turbo car. I dought it will make any difference. That sounds like the excuses are starting to fly already. It will help a little in a nitrous or NA car.
As for making fun of Jersey people I am seriously thinking about hauling my "crap bucket" down South just to send home a couple Kentucky people with tears in their eyes and their tails between their legs. It won't be the first time and won't be the last time I put a "Paradise" turbo motor on the trailer. Remember, if you can't cut a light on a Pro Tree in the 1/8th mile you can bet your ass that you aren't going to catch me.

P.S. I typed this with a smile on my face so I don't want anybody to get their panties in a bunch. FAGS !!

Sure, we can do an 1/8th mile event at a 1/4 mile track. haha. Of course it has to be Troy's decision.

OK Howard we can run 1/4 mile at the Pittsburg race. Make a sponsorship offer. It will only be under posted Unlimited Street rules and my discretion as in the past. Yes if the purse is enough "They Will Come" and it must be guaranteed in advance. Just show us the money.

Gauntlet is thrown, I'll be there. Even if Mr. Nitrous waaaaa baby won't show up. He used to think he couldn't beat a turbo car in the 1/8th too, but when it happened he became a FAN of the 1/8th, lol. Unfortunately it was ME that he beat! Hahahaha.

Oh, I will be there if there is a $5000 purse for the winner. I have never been afraid of a turbo car and my record shows it. I like being the underdog. It makes me work harder. I haven't cut my car up for weight reduction. I just keep working harder at my combo.
I knew that this would come up sometime. I don't like the 1/8th because it benefits me. I like it being a drivers race.
Like I said before, it's embarrASSing when the turbo guys need another advantage to try and win a race. hehe
What are you Turbo Fags going to bitch about when I stomp your ass's in the 1/4? Should we hold the next event at an airport and run a 1/2 mile race? LOL

And another thing Howard just to let you know properly I operate! Every race we have had I furnish all the advertising and website out of my pocket! We have had sponsors back out every race and I've had to pay extra out of my pocket to meet the purse. I don't care how much money you have or who you spend it with! That comment was a direct shot at my character!!!! Way to prove yourself and your 15 posts. Welcome to forum.

All of the sponsor payouts are listed on the website. There has never been a question with the payouts. Just add up all the money and look at the payouts. Troy or Dom would never do anything like that so why would there be a need for paperwork to GAURANTEE that the money would be used properly? Howard, thats not really a good choice of words IMO.

here we go again with the misunderstandings.......i'm not questioning your honesty by any means and i'm sorry if you took it that way........this is what is wrong with internet communication...........if i offended you in any way is was unintentional..................i should have explained what i meant by a paper drawn up.......  Anytime a company puts up sponsership money for a particular event, there is a receipt of what the money will be used for.......it is used as proof for a tax credit, and it is required by my accountant ......This also relieves me from any liability if someone is injured while racing for prize money offered by me or my company  and is required by my lawyer....i don't think that this is too much to ask for ......i'm suprised that nobody has ever asked you for this kind of paperwork in the past........i'm sorry you got so pissed off but this is the only way that i can make it happen..........it might have been a little easier to ask me what i was talking about before jumping to conclusions.......i don't understand why you're so quick to tell me to f**k off........If you don't want me to get involved just say so.......I really am just trying to help..........i can see how you took the "used properly" the wrong way (my bad).......All i'm looking for is a receipt stating that the money will be used for this event and it's being used for prize money........You're making this way harder than it should be......You've jumped on every one of my posts today.........Why don't we start with a clean slate another day?....If you're willing to work this out with me, i'm sure we will both be happy in the end.... please don't think i'm taking a shot at you or your class of racing.......no kidding Smiley
