I thought your goal was to get a clean pass off without breaking something. LOL.

Gene, I will join you on racing bikes. You need to see the ZX-14 that I just finished. Im expecting around 195 rwhp. It should be a fun ride.

I'm waiting on pics!

A guy from New Jersey with a black crotch-rocket.  Wow, that's original.  Where's the IROC Joe?

Matt, isn't your car a black oval window? Thats original. hehe

My dad actually had an IROC in 1987. I used to get dropped off to school in it wearing my Z Cavarriccis.

I am changing my name to the "Situation" because when I show up to an USE event theres always a situation. haha

Actually, that is North Jersey. They stem from New Yorkers. That show gives New Jersey a bad reputation but I guess that is what gets the viewers to watch it. I am a redneck hillbilly from South Jersey. Theres nothing down here but Farm Fields and Pine Trees. We are totally different from them. Now the Pocaros on the other hand..............................LOL

As for the crotch rocket, I would much rather be riding a fast bike then an "Air Compressor". Harley Davidsons are an embarresment of American Technology. They are only good for tractor pulling. LOL

No, we already have the assumption of NJ, the show just solidifies it, LOL!

Ginzo is slang for Guiney or Italian.

More important, USE is about 5 months away. Plenty of time to test those combos out. And will the 09 return or will his car sell??

What ever Howard. Nice to call it an Unlimited Street car and never show up to a race. You either want to race Unlimited Street or don't!

1/8 mile is more of a drivers challenge then 1/4 mile, but if you can't drive one how can you expect to do the other?

In Howard's defense,he wasn't the one to originally call it a "unlimited street car". I'm sure it would fill the bill quite nicely, however.  Wink

WOW guys..I met no disrespect to you or your class of racing..I mearly meant that 1/8th mile is not my thing...We only race 1/4 mile tracks here in western Pennsylvania........That is what i'm comfortable with just like you're comfortable with 1/8th mile tracks.....I'm not trying to start any crap......Why is everyone always looking to start up a fight?.......If the USE class was running 1/4 mile races, then i would get involved........My car wasen't built to compete strictly on the USE circut........I race it on occasion at my local 1/4 mile track and drive it on the street most weekends......It is built to USE specs, but wasen't built for "Racing only"......I would think that you would be welcoming new cars into your class not pushing them away before they even get started......I'm sorry i ever posted on this thread......i guess us old school 1/4 mile guys aren't considered good enough drivers to compete on your level of competition according to you.......I've always welcomed  competition, not pushed it away........Sorry if i was misunderstood because i meant NO DISRESPECT.......You need to quit reading between the lines and jumping to conclusions.......I've said my peace.......Have FUN guys.....Isen't that what it's all about anyway.......Howard Creps

Gene, that is my RD 350. I love vintage bikes as much as I love VWs.

Howard, you should really give 1/8th mile racing a chance. I didn't like it at first but it will make you a better driver. There are no slouches that run 1/8th mile. I consider USE "Outlaw" style racing and most "Outlaw" style racing is 1/8th mile. It equalizes the field also. Everyone knows a turbo car back halfs quicker then any other combo out there. If it went 1/4 mile it would be an all turbo field and less people would participate.

Also, I just think Troy was busting your chops and not starting a fight. You will need thicker skin if you want to hang with the USE guys. They are brutal. haha

Howard, As I said, you either want to race Unlimited Street or don't. 1/4 mile or 1/8. What you and others don't seam to understand is we do not have a centrally located 1/4 VW event. Hell we don't even have ANY 1/4 mile VW events on the East Coast. It's like you think we are afraid to run 1/4 mile?  It's not what I want to do, it's what we have to do, to have a successful class and event. As Gene has said many times, 1/8 mile, 1/4 mile, VW, motorcycle, or on foot, "We want to race!!"

As far as starting a fight? You might want to toughen up to to hang out with us. It get's much worse than this!!!!

PLEASE......thicker skin?........If my skin were any thicker, i'd need to burn it off with a plasma cutter........Let me set the record straight and introduce myself to those of you who don't know me.......This USE class is a complete new thing for me......I never claimed to be a USE racer or for that matter call my car a USE racecar......I'm 50yrs old and have been involved in many forms of racing my entire life and always having a high performance vw.......I've probably owned well over 50 vw's over the past 34yrs and was racing them before they were popular....My skin grew pretty darn thick over those years listening to all the snickering and even being refused entrance into some racing events because the promoter thought my vw's were a joke........I gained respect only when i started laying down faster 1/4 mile times than about 75% of the V8 cars at the track.........I've bounced in and out of vw racing over the years but always kept up on what was going on.........I've raced on a limited schedule because my family and business always came first.......In the past 5yrs, i've been able to get back into the vw scene because many years of hard work and dedication have blessed me with enough success to finally build a few cars of my dreams.......In the summer of 2008, i ran into the Cook brothers from Cookers V-DUBS at the Pittsburgh Classic show and race......Needless to say, i fell in love with what i saw.......I saw Gene Cooks turbo powered car run some incredible passes and it wasen't even running at it's best.......Shortly after that, i saw Bob Cooks beautiful 50 split on the pages of Hot VW's........Once again, i was hooked.......In the following year, i had Bob Cook build me what i think is one Badass street/strip 51 split window........The car is capable of  9sec runs i'm sure, but being completed in august of last year has kept me from much seat time..........i have run several test and tune runs with the car on a 1/4 mile track but have yet to race the car.........It's made several mid to low 10 second passes getting faster with every run..........I would like very much to race a few USE races in the future, but i have nowhere to test the car for 1/8th mile runs........If the USE class were running 1/4 mile tracks, i woulden't miss a race............I really like the class, but don't care for the 1/8th mile format because of my limited exposure..........I never claimed to be a better driver because i run 1/4 mile tracks and certainly meant no disrespect to you or your class......1/4 mile or 1/8th mile is still racing, but i'm intitled to my opinion just like you.....Nascar has the same problems with track size and restricter plates.......Why buld a big horsepower motor if you're not going to  cut it loose..........I'm in this for the fun and friendly competition of the sport..........i'm sure not looking to start a fight

Howard!!!! You already run 1/8 mile. It's on your 1/4 slip. There is no difference. You have to make it through the 1/8 to get to the 1/4. The thing most guys have trouble with is the pro tree. I ask my local track to let me practice up on a pro tree from time to time and they usually just let me run a single.

Don't use this being an 1/8 mile race as an excuse. Come run with us. By the way Gray cars are GAY!!!!
