First off I am NOT trying to sell anything, just passing on some information that may help someone save money by preventing transaxle breakage. On my turbo car I have been breaking a ring and pinion every couple passes. I have tried multiple clutch setups with varying pressures and differant discs trying to find something that would last more than a few passes without slipping in high gear. Finally I have a clutch management system that works the way I wanted it to. I owe a big thanks to Todd and David at MEGA MACHINE for the help they gave me along with taking the time to give me some ideas to improve what I had.
David and I talked at a SEVWA charity event about our cars and the problems I was having with my clutch management system. David asked if I wanted to try a prototype setup they had, like I hesitated, hahhahahha  David and Todd also gave me an idea for a better control setup than the switch I had previously. Here are some
 pictures of their valve setup,

The way you see it is the way it comes, complete. They also gave me an idea for an electronic control system which works with my delay box. Now instead of the switch for first gear I have a timer which activates the CM and releases it by itself. The timer I am using is my spare delay but you could use a NOS timer instead. I have my timer set for .5 seconds, this is not how long my clutch slips but only how long the valve is closed. The first time to the track it worked flawlessly, I was so happy you couldn't slap the smile off my face. If anyone is interested I will take any pictures or answer any questions you have. The purpose of this post is to prevent you having to relearn and spend money to learn what I already have. Mike McCarthy

I believe this relay would work perfectly with the clutch management valve and its only 40.00 at Summit,

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ARC-1402/?rtype=10

Tie it into your 2 step  wire  to the switch terminal of this relay so that when the 2 step releases it will begin the countdown of the timer for the CM valve release. The nice part of this whole setup is that there are no extra switches to push or flip to activate the system and the car will stage normally. Again if anyone needs help setting theirs up give me an email.   Mike McCarthy

I have been using this  setup for a year now. It seems to be working pretty well... but it took me some time to dial it in.

At what point does something like this become something that should be given some thought?  My car is getting close to my goal, but I am wondering at what point does maintenance on our cars get expensive and time consuming?  I run high 7's, and my car hasn't had any tranmission problems or breakages in 3 seasons.  I like that and want to keep it that way.  I don't mind tearing down my engine and trans yearly for checkups, but I want to stay away from breakage at race day as much as possible.  My goal is to get down around 7.50 to 7.60, but if the car gets finicky and unreliable, I will stay where I am and get leave the thing alone.

I'd say its working well for Brannon, I believe he's running a T1 and throwing a good amount of power to it.

Brannon, Were you using a timer  system or switches to control your CM ?
Super drag, I never had a problem when I ran N/A in the Ghia , ran 11.17 @ 119 at Rockingham back then, but this turbo engine plus the extra weight I am carrying in this car put me over the edge. This having been said, I think anyone who runs their car can benifit from the system. I have seen so many cars pull the front end off the ground then as their torque drops they hesitate before taking back off again. With this setup it lets it slip just a little and may actually improve your 60 ft times with the side benifit of longer trans life, JMO    Mike McCarthy

Thanks Mike.  My car doesn't do the "double buck", I usually set it up to turn the tires over once or twice.  The few times I have dead-hooked it, it didn't bog, but the 60 foots were no better than when I spin a tiny bit.

Just a switch on first gear that activates the line lock which allows the fluid to flow through the proportional valve. We I shift to second the line lock closes and the fluid flows freely in and out of the reservoir. I am using a cable up to the petal with the hydraulic system riding piggy back.
