Anyone have a source for replacement disks for Tilton dual disk setups?
I already looked on thier website and they don't list them.

I am looking into making the switch to dual disks.
My new flanged flywheel is Tilton disk ready.
And, I already picked up an intermediate plate. I plan on making the required spacers at my work (after hours).
So, the only thing left is the disks themselves.

Tom,I am pretty sure Competition Engineering can set you up with the discs you need.I hope your planning some sort of clutch management, thats quite a bit of clutch.

 Hey Tom,
               Mine came from Kevin,
http://www.ksracecars.com

but you may want to rethink those disks if you are using a clutch management system . My discs do not slip at all and I have added a cms but have not been able to run it yet to test it. I am also worried about damage to my flywheel from the metal disc surface ( non fiber discs)  .  I am thinking of selling my setup and going to the Kennedy setup. I also made up a ring for a .060 spacer instead of using individual shims between the pressure plate and flywheel, just easier to remove and install.   Mike

Excuse my ignorance on dual disk setups.
So the Kennedy is an organic compound and the Tilton is sinterd iron or similar?
If that's true, I most definatly want organic.

Here's my thinking on the whole thing.
Over the years of drag racing I have always used some kind of organic or metal woven disk. I have found that a good stage 2 clutch  and Kushlock or centerfore disk gives just the right amount of slip to keep my gearbox alive.
I have always resisted going to a 4 puck disk for fear of breaking somthing.

Now my main race motor is making around 300hp and potential for way more, I would rather just double up with a milder compound than switch to a single 4 puck.
So, if the Tilton disks are too harsh, then I don't want them.
If I can find some disks similar to a "Pro-Grip" or "Kush-Lock" type of compound. I'd be real happy.
I work in a machine shop and looked at just using 2 well worn organic disks and machining down the hubs. It looks do-able, but then I thought about all the extra weight of 2 full size disks, so I gave up on that idea.

For now, this is all specualtive. I plan on starting the season with my old stage 2 with Centerforce dual friction disk that worked great for a while.
I'm just worried that it won't be enough.

Opinions welcome.... Thanks to all for the replys.

2600 pound plate and a 3 puck! Just make sure you have a hydraulic clutch or your leg may fall off

I'm going to sit back and wait to see what some options people give you are. Ya know, for when some forced induction goes on my heap

Two organic, less aggressive discs are gonna be just as harsh as one aggressive puck or sintered iron type disc.Plus all the extra rotating weight. There is no reason at your current power level to use a dual disc setup.I ran my car the entire time I owned it with a single black magic disc and a stage 2 pressure plate.

Hey Thanks Aaron. I might give that a try instead.

Sounds like that makes more sense to me.
