Hi there,

I am looking for the PRA and ECPRA Pro Stock rules.  Could someone please tell me where they are posted.  Thanks.

Thanks.  I viewed those and didn't find any "Pro Stock" specific rules.  I guess general rules apply to all classes?

What is the min weight for Pro Stock and also max engine size?

Hiya' Terry,

The TxPRA P/S rules can be found at http://www.txpra.com/PS_rules.htm, and there is a weight/engine size table (based on 9 lb/in³) at http://www.txpra.com/PS_weights.htm. ECPRA P/S rules are similar, and can be found at http://www.eastcoastpra.com/ProStockRules.htm

I'm guessing that your question is related to the car shown in your new avatar? If so, what's the scoop?? Grin

Posted weights appear to be for car and  driver. ("WEIGHT: Minimum weight including driver is...")

Thanks for the info guys.  The car weighs aprox 1100 lbs so with me in it will work out as the minimum weight is 1300lbs.  With this weight I can run a 2332cc engine (142 CI).  Will probably not make enough HP to even qualify but will have lots of fun doing it.

So does anyone know if there will be a Pro Stock National race this year and where will it be.  Sure hope it`s on the east coast.  I might even be able to make it.

Thanks Tim.

For those who don't know the story, I actually bought that car 2 years ago and had it delivered to John's shop until I could pick it up.  Well John REALLY liked the car.  In fact he was the one who told me about it.  After a few phone calls he ended up buying it from me for the same $$$ I paid.  Just wanted to help out a friend in need... for speed.

The story goes on.  Last year I bought a dragster from Daryll Gordon in Ohio.  Hauled it home and did alot of work to it.  But it just didn't fell right.  Don't get me wrong, my dad had 2 dragsters so I know all about them.  I guess the whole reason i'm into VWs is that i'm different than all the rest of the racers up here in eastern Canada.  So why get a dragster?  Guess I wasn't thinking....

My new car is the real deal.  Chassis Shop, chromoly, T-2 trans with 930 CVs....etc   Now all I need is a 300hp naturally aspirated motor.  Can't see that happening anytime soon.

So i'm going to build a bracket motor and have some fun.

Anyone have a Pro Stock motor sitting around not doing anything.... Smiley

Thanks for all of your interests.  I truly appreciate your comments.

Can you post some more detailed photos John or Terry?
Particularly the rear suspension, but some of the whole car would be cool.
Thanks, David.

Here are some pics of Terry's New/Old car. I have always been a "Herbie" fan" and with three youngsters at home it only made sense to paint the car with "Herbie" in mind. That way its 4 kids(including myself) against 1 if you know what I mean. Unfortunately, the time needed to campaign the car wasn't in the schedule so the decision to sell was my choice. We still have other toys and the engine out of the car is going into another car for the street. I'm glad the car will be in Terry's hands, he's one hell of a friend.

Congrats on the new purchase, Terry!

You may want to check the four link bars on the car. One of the guys here in TX has a similar Chassis Shop car, and after almost wrecking the car, found out that the upper and lower bars were made of aluminum.

The car had been run for a number of years without issue before the bars suddenly gave way. They've since been replaced with chromoly tubing.

It was called having more HP now.

Yes if your still has the alum bars replacing them.

Jason had a small motor in the car last year, and wasn't running nearly as fast as JT had done when he owned the car (read as, less HP). My guess is that the bars were just simply fatigued.

Up here in Canada the only thing that is made of aluminum is beer cans so i'll have to take the bars off and have them recycled so we can enjoy a few cold ones.   First things first.....
