I heard a rumor that some sevier carnage went down at that race.

I also heard that Ollie was going to backup a new record when something went boom really bad....

Well not sure I would call it "sevier carnage" but the first car to attemp to go down the track was Todd Howard and it made a hard left about 60' out and t-boned the wall. frank daniels lost it later in the day but just kissed the wall lightly minor damage and was able to return. Ollie first pass was a killer 6.10 but I was told that they had to change engines and the backup didn't have it in it.
It seemed like most of the racers (including me) were having geek outs or stupid problems during the day and I know that out of the 8 cars in our group 2 came home with broken trannys

The "BOOM" your referring to was a nice Fire Ball trailing Ollie's car. He changed motors and was unable to run the numbers again. Rumors have it the truck sucked but it must be pretty darn good for a Pro Stock Record of 6.10 to be run and then later a 6.17 by Damon. Like any track it got slick later in the day but the track was there at one point. Of course having Nitro Methane, Oil, and numerous other parts from BRE and other cars dropping fluid on the track any traction will surely start to run away towards the hills.

No pro mods there. BRE did a small burn out and then blew apart on launch.

I was the 4th car down the track in the right lane and it was the slickest tracks I have ever been on.

The right lane was crap for sure. Almost took out the Chrismas tree in the final.

Marty, I think that if Roger would back the tune-up down maybe leave the nitro out I think he could get a handle on it. However when this is mentioned to him he will tell you he built it to run nitro and thats what he is going to do.. its a shame the potential is there

Cut 'em some slack. He is going where no VW has gone before...sub 4 second 1/8th mile. He will get a handle on it, and when he does...look out.

Terry, I saw the car at Indy right? I think I ran your buddy first round. Very nice craftsmanship. Throw a motor in it and come down south and race with us Cheesy
