For those of you in the drag racing community hear on the east coast, some of you know Mike Martin. Please Pray for him and his family, his son Austin is in Baptist Medical Center here in Winston Salem. What started out as a severe sinus infection now has turned into something much worse. I think it is called spinal menanjitus he said it is like having pneumonia on your brain, sorry I am not sure of the exact medical description. He is in very bad health and as of yesterday his chances of survival was 70%/30%. Mike and Paula and Austin are like family to me, they are surviving off one income right now, and the medical bills just keep on rising. He is not one to ask for help so I am doing it for him. Prayers and any donations will be greatly appreciated! Please feel free to contact me for any information. cell: 336-409-5971 if I don't answer right away leave a message I will return your call.     Thanks in advance,     Wayne Harron

You must have been reading our minds! Keith and I were just talking about that today. We can do it at Silver Dollar and Farmington.

Also, since we have a paypal account, we can set up something there too that people can donate to him. What do yall think?

sevwa@sevwa.com   just put it in as personal then gift, that way no fees are taken out.
we can then get the money out and send him a money order.

Your Awesome! I was thinking farmington to have more time to get the word out. But maybe a 50/50 at silver dollar, then I want to try to get some donations to raffle at farmington. Any input is greatly appreciated!

That sounds great! I will get something posted on the website soon and also mention about some raffle items for Farmington. At Silver we can do a simple 50/50 for the show and let them know where it is going and then do this at Farmington. Will have the paypal open for anyone that wants to donate.

Monica and I went to the hospital yesterday, Austin is doing much better. He is not out of the woods yet, He still has really bad headaches, they did a spinal tap on Friday to take some of the fluid off his brain, and did sinus surgery. He is in very good spirits, and his antibiotics have started working which is a big plus. He has been there for 11 days and they have not given any sign of him going home yet. Just wanted to update everyone.  Let's keep praying!!!!

I would like to thank every body for there thoughts and prayers. Austin has been in the Baptist Medical Center for 22 days now and really dont know how long he will be in there.  He is going to have brain surgery in the morning. When he went in they tolds us he had a 30/70% chance of living. Now he is up to a 60/40%. His mom and I are praying he makes it. Its in GODS hands now. Every one please pray for him. Thank you all for what you are doing for our family. I will post more about Austin tomorrow. Thanks from Mike, Paula and Austin.

Austin had his surgery thursday morning and is havivg a hard time. He is throwing up green stuff that is draining from his head. I hope and pray that the shunt they put in will make his head stop hurting. The stress is hard on the whole family. His mom has been at the hospital the whole time. Today is day 25 and dont know when he will get to come home, soon I hope. Its going to be tuff when he comes home because he will still have to have a iv for 8 more weeks. They say he will be fine but with each day that goes buy it only gets harder. Im one that dont ask for help but I am asking all to please help us out. I have changed working days to the night shift so when he comes home I can look after him during the day and his mom can go back to work. I am on my way to the hospital this morning to see him. Will up date later today. Thanks every one for there thoughts and prayers.
