There are 2 major posts here in the forums both talking about this event and yet we don't have any real talk about who's coming and who's not. Howard Crepes has stepped up and has put a HUGE amount into the purse and yet we aren't getting any information as to who's coming. The money is here... now we need your race cars to attend.

So again... who's coming?

Sorry guys, I have to sit this one out. My car is in pieces and I have zero time to work on it. I am backed up at the shop and with 2 kids it is hard to find time just getting out into the garage anymore.
Be safe and have fun everyone.

One of our NCVWDRA racers. Daryl Reynolds wants to run the Cookers Race with his
64 turbo vert but the cruise was moved to Saturday evening instead of Sunday morning as we were told it would be in July. He is a committed NCVWDRA racer and has told me he will run the NCVWDRA race Saturday and just run S/P at Pittsburgh on Sunday because he can't make it to the 6PM cruise. The show can go on with one less car or perhaps he can make an escorted 20 mile cruise on Sunday morning with an hour of cool down time before 1st round qualifying. I think that would be a fair alternative to being excluded from the program. There is a VW race at Quaker City Raceway the night before. A little cooperation here would go along way. The NCVWDRA supports the Pittsburgh Classic.

Doug, you contacted me on July 12th and I addressed this issue. I responded by telling you that he in fact COULD make the cruise on Sunday morning. I am not sure what the issue here is?

here is my original message back to you:

I spoke with the grand poobahs and they said he could make the cruise in the morning, the day of the race. They are concentrating on making the cruise kinda like the one we just had in SC where its a cool hang-out and such rather than just show up and race. Hopefully this will work for him.

Cool, it looks as if Gene, and Bob are going to hook Daryl up for a Sunday Morning run so he can race the Street Shootout!

If my stuff doesn't break in the next few weeks of "tune up", I'll be running the Sportsman Bracket Class, and the Gamblers Class. If I'm unable to race, I'll still be spectating.

I've had some mechanical issues were I wasn't able to race in the first two events, but I spectated at them. There are a lot of people going out of their way to try and make this show continue. I'm giving up Opening Day, Home Field, Steeler Tickets to attend this event.

Yes, just as they have said, a cruise can happen on Sunday morning. We want to include everyone that wants to be in the class. Just send either of us an email if you can't attend on Sat night and we can figure out a time for Sunday morning.

We hope that many of you can come run this class......whether you have a fast car or not, it will be fun and anything can happen!

Thanks for supporting us. It can't happen with out you alls support now and in the future. Neither one of us are made out of money, so if we can't make ends meet, then things might have to go on the downside, which we don't want that to happen. We both love putting on these events for all of us to have a place to go race at and just hang out with our VW friends.

Yeah I noticed one morning down here in Ga when I was watching the news and they were talking about the football schedule and notice that the Steelers where home and it was the season opener on our date! Arghhhh I thought to myself, don't they know that this was an important VW date and we need all those people at PRP! lol

Unfortunately this may have more of a negative effect on attendence than you think. Let's just hope they have the same mind set, and realize there's another game in just a few weeks, and they will be missing one of the greatest VW Event's on the East Coast!

Oh Hush! We didn't want to hear that!
And every time at one of our races that it calls for that, it NEVER rains! We have the show all day and it either rains the night before or after everyone is gone!

I find is very ODD that very few will commit to coming to this race.  With all the money up for grabs.  I hope there is a good turn out..

well, all we can do now is HOPE for the best!
Thanks to all of you that have helped Keith and I promote this event. We just hope that all that we all have done over the past months will pay off on show day!
We hope that when you attend the event, that YOU your friends and family have a good time. That is what it is all about!
