Even though my car still isn't done in the shop...gota think about paint for it. I am still undecided against it and want to see how the final drawing turns out. But so far this is a rough drawing of what it could possibly look like.
What do you guys think? Let me know. Don't be afraid to say 'I like it"  "It's ugly"  "It looks to much like 1990" or that you dig it. Feedbacks cool.
I am also working on a few other schemes and ill post them when they are done. Drawings being done by John Jaranson

Here is what the car looks like now....

How it could look.....

When I got the car, thats the paint scheme it had on it. So I want to re-paint it to make it my own and not say "O...that was...blah blah blah's car wasn't it'
I should have another scheme to look at by the end of next week or so and I'll post that and see what feed back comes back. We'll see.

I do like the Viper Blue that is on the car now though

It looks cool either way but you are right if it has the old paint scheme it will always be refered to as so and so's car. Really no matter what you do to the car that is the way people remember them.
Good luck with but do what makes you happy.
Great car by the way.

Im with Calabrese, I favor the themed cars with a name, like most guys did back in the day. The car takes on a personality of its own when you theme it.

AS far as your paint idea, if it were mine, I'd leave it alone.

Wow..I can not say enough about how AWESOME all of these came out. Big congrats to john and a huge THANK YOU!!! All of these schemes are awesome and will be tough choosing.

Here we go....

#1...A nice tri color with some graphics

#2   Three color with a white stripe on the hood

#3  Three colors NO hood stripe

#4 Just orange and Black

#5...Blue and black

The straight orange and black is bad-ass. Use an electric blue strip between the colors and you got yourself a winner

#1,no red roof...from graphic line up...in black with a carbon or heavy charcoal serparation strip between the black and orange...pearl the orange and "foose" fade the lower rocker area up with a darker candy burnt orange. still 2 colors, black and orange...just making it  more fun instead of just a 2 toned upper/lower...

just my 2cents

i like the black on top and orange on the bottom.. i think adding the graphic in number one would be cool ecspecially if it was like a silver and purple flowing checkerd pattern... need some accent strip (s) as mike mentioned.

I like Tim's idea too, sounds intence, maybe he can do it for you!  I also like the straight orange and black with the hot blue stripe like Lawless said, it seems simple but effective.  Great car anyway, I hope to see it run in person this year!

we've talked Wink...when he ready I told him I'd take care of him...#4 is my only "picture" choice...but he's gotta definitly make it HIS own, for sure...

no one wants to be known for some one else's car...I like tthe faded out orange...the color scheme is time tested and with the light fade to dark it pulls some trend and still keeps it simple..the busy paint schemes make sponser stickers  lost is all of the "comotion"...2 colors keep it simple, makes a statement and still leaves room for the big "donor" logo's...

less is more  Smiley

Rhode Island is only about 4 hours away.....thought it was like 8. Things just keep looking better Timmayyy!!!
We will deffinately have to work out details and get the car up to you this year at at the latest...winter.

Sponsors? People may get confused if I just write "Back Pockets" on the door  Cheesy

Thanks for all the input guys and only 2 things will stop this from happening. Time...and Money. But before paint, I just need the car to go down the track and work right. Then worry about paint. But wanted to throw it out there and see what everyone said. I am deffinately excited and want to go down the track!!!!

From a photographer point of view (magazine guy). Stay away from black on the roof and front hood. On a (black) drag strip, there wouldn't be enough contrast. I like the one with red on top and front, orange on bottom, and black running off the back end. Don't forget to have the headlights airbrushed in, otherwise, it looks like its eyes are closed... Layout works for me. That's cover material.

Try taking that drawing, drop the background out, and place it over the photo of your present car on the strip, and see what happens.

I like it with the red on the front and top also.  I do not think you need a theme.  A real "eye catching" paint job will make the car unique and stand out all on it's own.   Of course, it will need to go fast.  Wink

As it sits right now, the car should go 10.90's easy with the 2332 motor. Like Scottie said, he needs to go down the track, get used to the car, race it all season, THEN worry about repainting it.
