Just got off the phone with Doug, to work out a few details.FASRNU RaceTeam will be sponsoring a perfect reaction time for all 4 races. The way to get paid is to get a copy of the timeslip send it to me, and I will send the $$$$ to you. A few details--time trials and eliminations count, win it in either one, any car can try, delay box/electronics, 2 step, leg control, whatever. The way it will go is $25.00 per race, miss it goes to $50 then $75 and at the last race $100.You can get it at any race #1 2 3 or 4. If no one hits it at any race, the last race prize $$$ $100.00 will be given to the closest one over .000 If the track uses .500 as perfect, as opposed to .000 then thats what we will go off of.Good luck and see you at the races.

Now if no one hits .000 during the year, is it clsest to perfect at the LAST RACE or throughout the year all together   gets the money?

The North Coast VW Drag Racing Association is proud to announce that Steven Pocaro and FASRNU Racing
will be sponsoring the " FASRNU Racing Light Award" for the NCVWDRA races at Quaker City in 2010.
FASRNU is putting up $25 at each of four races for a Perfect reaction time. If nobody cuts a perfect light,
the money will be rolled over to the next race. If there has been no perfect lights at the first three events the pot will be $100.00
at the final race. If there are no perfect lights at the final race the money will be awarded to the closest to perfect at
the final event during eliminations.
This is a great incentive to get up on the wheel and cut a good light! Thank you Steven for supporting the NCVWDRA!!!

Who's ready to race? Quaker City Raceway officially opens this Saturday April 10 for
test and tune. I went to the track last weekend and the facility looks great! I met with
Ann and Dan to give them posters to hang at the track and in the office. They are excited
about the 2010 season and the North Coast VW Drag Racing Association races. We can expect
to be treated well this season at QCR. Let's return the favor by having high car counts and bringing
lots of spectators!!! It's a great facility to race at and we will definately give them a show!!

Who's planning to run with the NCVWDRA at QCR this year? Race dates are all Saturdays!
June 19
July 24
August 7
September 11

Please check our website and this forum for updates regularly.  www.ncvwdra.com

See you at the track!!!!!!!!

Also, to add:
May 30th, Norwalk Raceway Park in Norwalk Ohio is have the annual
Busher racing import shootout. (check out Norwalk's website for details).
This year NDRA is sponsoring the Outlaw class open to pretty much any 4cyl car. they payout is really good in this class. Gotta run 8's to be competetive.

I usually take the #1 in All Motor-Pro class. (no money, but nice trophey).
Good heads up racing.
Lots of other classes too.

Good time at a World class track. No issues with T-n-t hot laps since we're the only race that day.
I use it as a way to dust the car off and whip on some Hondass....

I was out to Quaker for some TNT a couple of weeks ago, and found out my little Facet Fuel Pump was having trouble keeping up around 1200 feet. I just got done switching to something a little bigger with a little larger line, so I should be ready for action. Is anyone going to try and hit the German Car Fest at the Thurman Munson Stadium over in Canton in the morning? There is a great bunch of guys that are having a show up in the Clarion PA. area as well on Saturday. The NCVWDRA event is the event I'll be attending reguardless. I really wanted to check out the event up in Clarion since I've missed it the last couple of years for one reason, or another. I was actually thinking of going up in the morning, but I wouldn't get to spend too much time there, and it would be quite a haul back to the track. The Car Fest is a good bit out of the way also, but quite a bit closer to the track. See you on Saturday.

This will definately be a good time for all VW fans in this region! Don't miss it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

See you at the track!!

Sorry Stephen, I had to go make a living today. Roll Eyes
I can now reveal the results from the 1st NCVWDRA race
from Quaker City Raceway in Salem, Ohio.
We had 18 cars in attendance Saturday. 15 made 1st round call.
Bybacks were available for 1st round R/U. The fourth round was the semi
final round and paired Hank Lentz's 12.60 dial against Geoff Keeton's 16.71
dial. Geoff got the better reaction with a .532 to Hank's .590 but Hank's bug
was ON with a 12.61 pass and Geoff ran a 16.79. Gary Senior in his buggy
had the bye and broke the beams into the finals.
The finals put Gary Senior's 13.70 dial against Hanks 12.50. As Gary left, Hank's
Bug rolled thru the beam going red. Gary Senior is the NCVWDRA race #1 winner!!
Congratulations to our winners and all who came out to race at QCR last Saturday!!
Here are some pics I took. More will be posted by others. Sorry, didn't get Geoff.

looks like a very nice facility... i didn't see any IHRA or NHRA Branding. Is it a non sanctioned facility?

I like the ghia. I think i see it run at Larrys sometimes.

"Missed it by that much!" My timeslip said Hank beat me to the line by .0102 seconds! Man, if I only would of taken that dump before the round! Congrats to Hank, and Gary making it to the final round. The next event is July 24th, start getting them ready now!

the AHRA is NOT doing well this year. they have had a few rain outs and cancelled another event due to... TRACK REPAIRS supposedly. a friend of mine knows someone that knows someone and supposedly the canada one was not cancelled due to track repairs. they were in the HOLE from the rain outs and the turnout was going to be small so they just cancelled it to save the $$$$ from what they heard.

Hmmmm.....  I don't really follow the NHRA, IHRA, or AHRA events as a whole, but at Quaker City, it's business as usual. The tracks schedual is as busy as it was last year, and they aren't having any issues with racers/spectators, and have even added a third day of weekly racing.
