I haven't been following this post.. but i have a question.
Keith and Kathy with K & L Motorsports scheduled the Pittsburgh race a year ago. Announced the date at the event if i'm not mistaken. And you schedule a race the day before. WHY?
I know one year a few of the guys drove all night from one race to the other but in my opinion ultimately this is hurting the Pittsburgh Race. How come you didn't schedule it the week before or after?

Stephan, We did the same thing last year, race at QCR the night before the Pittsburgh Classic with plans to race both days as a group. It worked out very well with 18 cars at QCR Sat and 15 of us made it to PRP Sun. We had Gary Seignior of Toledo win Sat at QCR and again on Sun at PRP. Tom Simpson also did very well that weekend. It was a blast! We raced QCR, had a bonfire and party camping at QCR, towed to PRP in the AM and did it all over again. Awesome weekend racing in anyones book. We in no way hurt the attendence at Pittsburgh. In fact we increased it both with race cars and spectators. We are completely behind K&L Motorsports with what they are doing with the Pittsburgh event. The North Coast VW Drag Racing Association will be there in force.

IFa....and I say IF...we were to make the trip from Jersey to race QCR VW series, it would be the allure of 2 race dates in a weekend that would bring us. Being able to race Saturday and drive back TOWARDS home and hit Pittsburgh on the way, we would do that. Again, have to check work and such but if we came for the QCR series, that would be our time

The 2 racers that couldn't make it from QCR to Pitt the next day were me and my brother in law. We had prior obligations or we would have made it!!!! From what it sounds like we missed a blast of a time!!!

I think that if more of the promoters would think about how they can work together to have two races on one weekend the car count would come up. Most of my V8 friend that race have a number of two race weekend over the summer to help with the car count. Even IHRA does it with there sportsmen racing series are two race weekends.. I thank Doug and K and L for doing this it saves me money and I get twice the fun......

The 2 racers that couldn't make it from QCR to Pitt the next day were me and my brother in law. We had prior obligations or we would have made it!!!! The third racer from the Quaker Races that didn't race at the Pittsburgh Classic, didn't race due to problems with the car, but drove the car to the event anyways to at least spectate. I think having the events back to back will only help both. I feel the Pittsburgh Classic is in jeopardy of disappearing. By having four VW Racing Events throughout the Summer before the Pittsburgh Classic, if Doug can get a following of regularly attending racers that can be "plugged in" to help boost attendance at the Classic, I'm all for it. If you're not racing at the NCVWDRA Events, or The Pittsburgh Classic, and live in Western PA/Eastern Ohio Areas, you'll have to travel multiple hours to race at another VW Event. I feel having two events on the same weekend within a couple hours drive from each other is going to make this a much higher "must attend weekend" priority for VW Enthusiasts. Yes the NCVWDRA Events will draw a nice crowd throughout the Summer, but having the chance to race at two events so close together, I would think would be a major draw for "out of towners" like flat top, and Krylon Monster.

The North Coast VW Drag Racing Association is proud to announce that K&L Motorsports will be putting up an additional $100.00 to any NCVWDRA racer that can win one of the NCVWDRA races at Quaker City Raceway AND win their class at the Pittsburgh Classic!!! Quite an incentive to do well and attend all four of the NCVWDRA races AND the Pittsburgh Classic. We want to thank Keith and Kathy for their support of the NCVWDRA and all they do for the VW community. This type of cooperation will lead to bigger and better events for all involved! Mutual support for the benefit of the hobby is definately the way to go for the future. Thank you K&L Motorsports!!!!

If we do not make it in person, going to try and make our presence felt regardless. I think our best shot is the double up with the Pittsburgh race at the end of the year. You sent me a PM a few days ago, totally forgot to respond

No problem Doug, it is our pleasure! We have to work together to keep the VW Community alive and well! Wish you all the best of luck at any of the Drag Races you guys attend this year. We hope to see everyone at the Pittsburgh Classic in Sept and if you can make it further south at any of our SEVWA events as well. The North Coast VW Drag Racing Association is proud to announce that K&L Motorsports will be putting up an additional $100.00 to any NCVWDRA racer that can win one of the NCVWDRA races at Quaker City Raceway AND win their class at the Pittsburgh Classic!!! The North Coast VW Drag Racing Association welcomes Scott Pocaro and Pocaro Racing as a sponsor for the 2010 season. We are proud to announce that Pocaro Racing is putting up $100.00 for the Low ET of eliminations paid after the last NCVWDRA race of 2010. We will keep track of low ET of eliminations at each race at QCR this season and the lowest will be awarded the "Pocaro Racing Low ET of Eliminations Award" and be considered the NCVWDRA ET record holder. Last season Bill Edwards ran a 10.04? I ran a 10.47. Mike Mullins ran 10.51? How much smoke do you got? Bring it to Quaker City Raceway in 2010 and run with the NCVWDRA! http://www.ncvwdra.com/index.htm
