So on the UAC there was thread for all of you that do not visit it I thought I would post the idea here.
I am putting together a more formal deal than the annual parties that I throw to help out a VW racer in need. Since we have already started the year off on a sour note I feel that it is seriously needed. I will take in donations and disperse  them at my discretion. I will be happy to listen to any request but will ultimately make the final decision as to who and how much is to be given.
Please give me feedback positive or negative I can take criticism.
I have already sent a message to VWA requesting permission to use the VW logo. WE will see what they say.

Most of you know the success we have had in the past with the parties and we could not have done it without all of your generosity. For this I thank you.
I tried to post the new logo but have been unsuccessful .

Sounds good.  The only improvement I can think of would be a way to make decision making a bit more democratic.  Have you thought about selling T-shirts?  If you get one with a cool design, people will be happy to spend the $$ for a good cause.

I like this idea also.  My husband, kids and I are always sporting the VW t shirts whenever possible  Smiley

yes we are working on shirts now as well.
The thing about making it a more democratic decision is that I will never be able to please everyone. In the past we when put a party together the team and I picked a person, thankfully there were not allot of candidates , and concentrated on doing what we could .
I don't mean to sound like an ass or a dictator but I hope you understand I will totally listen if someone has someone they feel is in need of help from us and see what we can do.
This is designed to help and bring us together as a community to make things a little easier.
Thanks guys / gals

That is what I love about the VW community, they always look out for one another.   I would like to offer a monetary donation for the party so check your email Lance.

I am sure it will be a great event!
Thanks Lance!

Thank you Kathy you rock.

The pre race party will be Sat Oct 16th. This is the night before the PRA finals in Fontana. A flyer will be posted as soon as get it designed.
Unfortunately I did not get to do one last year but this will be our fourth one. The last attendance count was 150. As my wife stated this is not a party it is an event now.
More space for parking so we do not have to use the Jon "Shuttle" Schweers to go pick up attendees.

It is all coming together.
We will also have a booth setup at the Classic courtesy of Bug O Rama Promotions. Thank you Steve Hole and Family.

Once I get the decals done I will send them out to anyone that makes a donation. We are also working on getting some T Shirts done too.

I understand your thinking, but think it would end up being unworkable.  There are two VW guys in the hobby that have my respect to manage this proposed new program, Lance and Greg.  I'd bet that when the time comes they will both "talk it over" and make a good choice.  Frankly this needs to run as a dictatorship.

Great idea.

Yes Lance, we will be their to support our sponsors.  By the way, our car still has the same "sponsor decals" on it, not as depicted in some promotion photos.  Many thanks to our long time sponsors, Cal Look.com, VW Paradise (engine), Rancho/LAT (transmissions/lubes), and CB Performance (heads).

The $150 ($50 plus $100) entry fee is kinda steep.  Hopefully the Q32 class entry is not paying for the other classes?  I have not seen the payout breakdown yet.

Well unfortunately VWofA declined the right to use the VW logo. They do not suport the VW hobby in my opinion. Chances of me ever buying a new VW is slim and none. What a shame
So we will proceed and drop the VW logo out of our logo.
Everything is still a go and we will be ready for the Classic.
Thank you to all of you that have already contacted me.

Unfortunately, that seems to be the way big business operates.   Their loss!

Lance, you've always seemed to be very good about selecting who was in need at your parties, and I've always been very willing to help those folks out with raffle ticket dollars, etc... I think that's a great idea...

just wanted to keep the shirt design simple and recognizable.

We will have a booth at the VW Classic on June 13th.
Spoke with the PRA and they will also have a booth next to us.
The plan is to have some cars on display, staging light and videos and draw as much attention to both organizations as possible.

Please stop by and say hello and show your support.
