I have an Edelbrock microswitch.  It's a single pole, double throw switch.  I want to set it up for my MSD 2 Step.  It has a COM 1, NC2 and NO 3 prong.  My understanding is the hot wire goes to the NO3, the COM1 is the ground.

So, the wire coming from the MSD goes to the NO3?  The ground is at COM1.  What would be at NC2?

Or does a wire come from the battery to NO3?  Then the MSD wire goes to NC2?  And the ground is at COM1?

Use only the Com, and NC terminals. Don't connect anything to the NC contact.
Com = common terminal
NO = Normally open
NC = Normally closed.
