Hmmm I doubt that the track would tech my turbo street car. No roll bar, factory belts.
It's very  much NOT leagal for tracks that check (like PRP).

My plan is to do like last year and double enter my race car in Pro and Super Pro classes. Last year the car ran right at the cut-off so I could easily re-dial the car for each class.
Almost R/U in both last year... (got R/U in Pro thou).

I will be there with the car Grin
But let me just say something about tech I never had a problem with tech in all my years of racing. You build your car around the rules and you have no problems. I know that this way you are safe and the car beside you is safe. That way if something should happen the only thing that gets hurt is the car. So Don't talk about tech build your car right and you  won't have to worry. I also know that people talked about the vw jam and how hard they where on tech but like I said. Point Made!

So if it sells before that race weekend are you gonna hold onto it until then?
Sure would be nice to see you at least get a couple of passes in a car that you put that much work into.

Just to be clear, I wasn't bashing track tech inspection.
I totally agree and respect tech inspection.

My street car is just that, a street car that runs low 11's. I don't have the goal of making it legal to race.
Therefore it will stay home.

That's all I'm saying.
My race car is "tech friendly" and usually has no problem no matter what track I attend. .

Hey Gene, do you have a scatter shield around your bell housing?
I was thinking of installing my Supercharged motor, but I'm un-sure if they will care about that?
Might have to run the N/A motor instead.

I'm not Gene but most of us turbo USE guys have a shield or blanket. I have one of the FTD Kevlar bell housing blankets. My old shield weighed almost 18 pounds. The blanket weighs less than five?

I wasn't bashing the tech either. My car is built right. I was just saying they went over my car very well and told me that my double spring on my carb throttle return would have to be a single spring in the future. Point taken, spring changed. I agree with strong tech as well.

I use a shield, built by my brother.

It is built by Fast Time Design. He advertises on The Samba and is a sponsor for the ECPRA. They might have a link on their page.

Kathy, No you aren't doing anything wrong, you are actually going WAY out of your way to make this event a reality. I plan on racing the street bracket class, but I planned on doing this the last two years, only to fail because of stupid mechanical failures right before the event. The event is still a couple of months away, and a lot can happen in our normal lives, and our racing lives in that period. There are many people that have raced at the first two events, many that couldn't race at the first two events, and those that would like to race at future events that all realize that support is needed to continue this event. I attended the first two events even though I didn't compete, and will be at this event racing, or spectating, in support to continue it into the future.

Yes it's quite a ways a way, and it will be here quicker than everyone realizes, but please post if you are planning to attend? This will at least give Keith, and Kathy an idea of attendence.

We are passing out flyers for the PRP Classic at the NCVWDRA races
encouraging everyone to attend. It's a great event and a fun marathon
weekend of drag racing. I'm also in contact with the Central OH Vintage
VW Club and I'm urgung them to attend as well.
Don't give up on us!!!

I have sent out numerous emails to clubs and businesses up in yalls areas about the show, but alot of times, never hear a word back from anyone. Thank yall for spreading the word and we hope as well as you do that the event is a success!

I didn't mean to sound harsh in the post, so please don't take it wrong, just the way I feel.

I'll be at Atco this weekend with Joel's car and will be passing-out flyers for the Pittsburgh Race.  I'm still working on getting more sponsors, racers and spectaters to come out for this race.

If we get this GTG at the Dealership going need to come up with a watercooled Drag car to have out there as well as the aircooled to spark some interest.

If $7000 doesnt get people to a race, NOTHING will! Come on guys, seriously. In an economy such as this, for folks to put up THAT much money for a VW race?? Please do whatever you can to make this a "must attend" in any capacity! Racing, spectating, showing, swapping, bu!!crapting, lol!!! Racers, you will NOT be disappointed in this track! They treated us like gold last time!

We plan to come.  Tough when you have kids, they start back to school a couple weeks before this so if we leave on Saturday, early, or Friday night and return home Monday, kids have to miss 1-2 days of school.  At least that's the issues we have.  Nice if there's a get together on Saturday too.  Just so the wife and kids don't feel like the are only going to hang at a track all day.  Not that that's a bad thing, my daughters are 17 and 13 so they can get bored.  Unless there's cute boys their age who have aircooled VW's (that's my stipulation).
