I don't want to overtire it Roll Eyes so here are some specs:2276 s/f heads,IDA's FTC 2speed 3:88 or a 4:12? was told the 1-2's are 3:80,1:93,previous owner did not have alot of history on the car so if Anyone knows anything, please let me know,Thanks,Madmike

Should run great for the first 330'. After that it
will depend on how high you can turn the R's.

You will run out of gear before 1/8mi if you run the standard 26" tire.
You could run a 29" tire and just make the 1/8mi...

Sell the 2 speed stuff and build a four speed. The dog ring set up in a 2 speed trans will never take the abuse of a harsh launch on pavement. And it will never be geared to perform the way you want. A 26x8 slick should be more than enough for a light car like that.

I found out from a sand guy up here It's a Sand drag Recored holder when it had a N/a 2332 in it Cool so I pulled the 2276 w/vw rods Roll Eyes and stuck in my 2332 Porsche rod motor, thinking it will handle the rpm's a little better Grin,My thoughts are: in sand your spinning to move the car, thus using up rpm's,,,on asphalt it "Shoud' be moveing forward instead of spinning, thus not using up my gearing Huh Does this make since? Grin and Aaron I'll try to take it easy on the launch to 'Try" and save the dogring Grin

If you can figure out final drive ratio. Put in high gear spin input shaft until you get one revolution out of tire. Count how many times input shaft spin. From there its just math to see if it will work

Shoot might be more accurate with motor in if you run a pulley with degree wheel. Pull plugs and rockers off and have fun

You can remove the gear stack out of the trans WAY easier than pulling the engine. The 2 speeds are made to service. I used to change dog rings between rounds! BTW... Why you old guys so hard headed? LMAO
