If it doesn't run in the 11's, i'll have to get a new license plate.......It did run 12.50's with the mystery motor that was in the car last year....It now has a 12:1 compression 2332 that Bob built for me.......I drove the car last thursday but didn't take it over 5,000rpm's........We'll find out how good it runs when we get back from California......If it doesn't run in the 11's, it will get a 50 shot of NOS

They line up when the front end is in the air.

Okay I'll admit there really isn't an adjustment for the vertical fitment but the pins are probably grooved on top and bottom due to age causing the droop. You could also use a thin shim between the lower hinge and body to raise the rear of the door.

Now I know that the pins can be a bitch to remove but when you put that much effort into making a beautiful car why scrimp on something like that?

The truth is it is beautiful and deserves the final detailing.... Nuff said!

[Man you got it all figured out!!! I guess you better give Buddy Hale a call to give him the same info, cause the car he just built thats on the cover of Hot VW and 6 pages inside has the same TRIM alignment issue. I hate to brake it to you that sometimes  these cars were not built to the highest standards when new. I will post a pic to show you the door is not a problem. This was not a $50000 restoration so as a builder you have to draw a line on how much mock up and fitting you will do before paint. And welding and redrilling trim holes for a race car was not in the budget. But thinks for the help....NUFF SAID!!

As Bob said, "IT'S A RACE CAR" .....I really doubt that the door sagging 1/16th of an inch is going to slow it down too much

Lose those velosity stack filters and the car will run alot closer to 11's.

I agree with Dougzilla on this. Lose the pre-filters and it will pick up on the top end.

My method for aligning the doors:
cost 25cents/door.
I loosen the 3 screws that hold the bottom hinge in place. I then insert a quarter between the hinge and body "A" pillar (shim).
A quarter works nice because it just fits inside the 3 bolt pattern so it stays put. Re-tighten the hing screws.
Test.

I have tried to get the hing pins out of doors in the past. Unless you have a torch and are willing to burn off all your paint, just forget about it.
Mine were not that worn anyways, but needed the quarter to get them lined up perfect. The doors close like a new car now....

Maybe it's not the perfectionist way of fixing it, but it sure is nice to have the doors close nice and straight.
