The Pro Racing Association (PRA) was informed tonight by Steve Hole that in 2012 Bugorama Promotions will run its own drag racing series with the same classes as the PRA, competing against the PRA. This move is directly related to the PRA scheduling its finals in 2012 for November 4 in Wittman, Arizona and subsequently Bugorama Promotions scheduling a "brand new" event in Phoenix one week later. The PRA expressed concerns over racers running for championship points having to make back-to-back trips to Arizona to end the season and it appears the Phoenix event was scheduled to purposely compete with another promoter the PRA is working with. The PRA will move forward with planning its 2012 season schedule and will be working with other promoters and race tracks. The possibility of some race dates conflicting between the two series does exist but every possible effort will be made by the PRA to avoid this.
