I recently got into this and it's just as addicting as real drag racing. Just on a smaller scale. They have points series', bracket races, Heads Up formats and BIG money races! Fun as Hell!

Does anybody else run these? I want to "tweak" the motor and need some advice,LOL!

I found a company that supplies Styrene and Lexan Bug Bodies, Pretty Cool, I actually own two Styrene body cars.

Breaking parts on that scale would be way more manageable, that's for sure.  No need for a trailer, a big truck.  No sitting in 100+ degree weather in a black car waiting to run.  No oil downs.  Sounds good but probably not near the rush.  This would probably be more Gavin's speed!

One of the best vids I've seen.  Slo Mo is cool.  Look at the 2:32 mark.  A VW bus runs! Cool!

i started racing slots a year ago last month and now have 16 cars. its worse then big car racing because you cant build enough cars, you always want somthing new. i have 5 tracks within 40 miles of me and at most tracks the recers are big car racers in the summer months. we have a $1500 to win race today at tss hobbies and they'll get around 300 cars.the link below has some of my cars and i have a few new ones i've been working on like a true street car that you cant use any wheelie bars and the weight cant be over 135 grams.

Very Cool Bill! I started a month ago and own 4 cars, lol! I picked up a VW Fastback tonight and have a Notchback on the way.  Also, gonna pick up a Top Sportsman (.899 or quicker class) 55 Chevy next week.  Damn things are addicting.  We might need to start a portable track for some of our summer events, lol!

There's a track here in Mooresville, racecityraceway.com. I haven't been over there yet but a lot of the Nascar crew guys race there. They have a drag strip but I don't know how long it is.

i drag raced slot cars from age 11 to age 14 then gave it up cause i couldn't afford it.  so i started messing RC cars.  i miss slot cars.  a few of my friends race them.  my local track (Buena Park Raceway) has a lot of VW guys that race and hang out there.  last time i raced was probably 6 years ago at an all VW race they do once a year.
here a few old pic's of my vw slot cars

bracket bug

then a friend gave me more body's a few weeks ago.  they are currently cut out, i just need to make chassis and paint them

Maybe somebody can chime in here? We have a class called Top Sportsman which is a bracket .899 or faster class.  They are telling me that it can't be done in a bug.  They are saying that because of the short wheelbase it will not be safe.  I'm thinking with a nice wing it should be fine.

Here is my latest!

people saying it can't be done sounds like a challenge to me.
iv made one of my blue bugs run a 1.000 and they're "womps" you don't get a shorter wheelbase than that.  worked fine.  if the chassis is straight and the wheelie bars are adjusted i would think it would be ok.  id be more inclined to use a lexan or styrene body though.  just to keep the CG down low.

cool fastback btw.  looking to built one of those myself
