A motley group of eccentrics, hell-raisers, and visionaries have found heaven in the ruins of California’s once-premier resort area––The Salton Sea.

Andy Knebel's Memorial Service

Excepts from Gene Berg Enterprises web site….
…some of Gene’s friends requested that he rework their VWs because they saw that his was far faster and still retained its life. He did this as a sideline from 1957 until 1961. During that time Gene met Andy Knebel. Andy had his own business in Renton, Washington and did work for Gene…
…Through the years Andy & his wife Elaine spent winters in California and worked at Gene Berg Enterprises. During this time Andy developed various tooling and machines to manufacture products. This tooling and the machines he manufactured are still in use today to manufacture our parts. It was always Gene’s wish that Andy would move to California and work full time with him. Andy and his wife didn’t want to leave family in Washington.
After Gene died, Dee again approached Andy and Elaine. They made the commitment to make the move in 1996. Andy is an experienced machinist, innovator and an inventor. He has developed his skills using the computer as it applies to the industry today, and has experience in computer operated automation. If something needs to be developed just tell him and he will fulfill the need. Quality has always been very important to Andy too.

From Dee Berg’s post on Cal-Look:

As many of you know, Andy Knebel passed away on March 18th, which was truly a huge loss for the VW community. A service is being held in Washington this weekend, however, another will be held in Anaheim, California on April 15th at 11:00 a.m. should anyone like to attend. The service will be at the Knott Avenue Christian Church, 315 S. Knott Avenue.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to one of the following charities:

Victory Junction or Antioch Adoptions.

Matt, if you're refering to the bike, that's one of milwakee's best.
and I don't mean the malted beverage kind.
It started out as a 2000 Buell Cyclone and made 80hp on the chassis dyno last summer.
Frame is from choppers unlimited and takes all the Buell componants.
It's almost finished, I'll post some pics when it is.

If you look closely you can see trans fliud on the ground from a blown trans.
I can't remember the girl's name but she used to tend bar at the Landmark,

couple pics of the chopper project I just finished.
I also just bought a 1999 Buell Lightning for the next chopper with a Twisted Choppers frame and a 250 rear tire.
Now I'll get back on my Pro Stock Project.
