CB Performance “Magnum” 044 Cylinder Heads
Bored for 90.5 cylinders. 40 mm x 35.5 mm stainless steel valves. Hi-rev single springs with chromoly retainers. 53 CC chambers.
I ran these for approximately 25,000-30,000 miles on my mild 78.4 x 90.5 (2017) engine. They were excellent, reliable heads. I got a deal on a more aggressive set of heads when I upgraded the engine to 2110, and didn’t need these. They are exactly as they came off of my engine, un-cleaned.
Heads appear to be in good shape. No cracked fins. Seats look good. The valve springs were removed for inspection of the valves, but the springs are included (with the retainers). Valves were lifted off of the seat to check for guide wear, and the guides feel good. Ports were untouched as delivered from CB.
I recommend cleaning the heads cleaned, having the seats and guides checked and new springs installed.
CB says the following about these heads on their site:
“You've read about 044's and seen'em run. Now you can have 044's with SUPERGRIP S/S Single Groove Valves!. Stronger by design with big flowing ports. Hi-Rev springs, chromoly retainers, bronze silicon racing valve guides, 3/4" long reach spark plug bosses, double thick combustion chamber walls, tapered cooling fins and factory produced by an O.E.M supplier to Volkswagen. The choice is yours, order your 044's today with 40 x 35.5mm or 42 x 37mm S/S valves. Chamber Volume; Approximately 55 cc's”
