I'm posting this for a friend of mine.  He has a 79 or 80 Rabbit diesel pick up.  He needs some parts for it.  He's been through the junkyards, but the pickins is slim.  Any good junkyards in So. Cal. or does any shops carry new parts?  I tried to talk him into stabbing a A/C VW motor and trans axle in the bed area, but he likes the 50 mpg thing.... What a wuss! Grin

Gary, you might try calling VW Specialties in Huntington Beach and ask for Ron (714) 848-3766.

Mostly he's looking for some mechanical stuff (shocks, brake parts, window regulators, etc.). The body is in decint shape.  I tried talking him into swapping in a turbo gas motor, but he mumbled something about liking his 50 mpg... Roll Eyes

Thanks JM, I will have him give them a call.

You can also try the VW Vortex classifieds.  The VW Vortex is mainly domintated by watercooled owners as the Samba is dominated with aircooled.
Here is the link to the clasifieds and the Golf I/Jetta I pertains to the 1975 - 1984 Rabbits and Jettas: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zeromain?id=87
