Since last October, a young friend of my wife and I has been battling a tumor on his brain stem.

The specialists last year advised medication, radiation and chemotherapy.

We found out last week, that none of these treatments have succeeded.

Nothing can be done now, except make him comfortable during his last weeks as a eight year old boy.

Please offer your good thoughts throughout the day, and appreciate your life and your health.

That is very sad news indeed, Jim. It's especially tough when it affects someone who's young and has not yet had a chance to experience a full life.

Is there anything that we can do as individuals or a VW community to make the little boy's remaining time as good as it can be? (sending cards & letters, videos, clothes & hats from his favorite sports teams, video games, toys, etc.)

I know what you are going thru, one of my friends in the Swedish Cal-look scene got the same verdict a couple of weeks ago. He is a father of three kids and only 40 years.  Life is not fair for everyone.

As the father of an 8 year old son (and a 3 year old son, 2 year old daughter) I cannot begin to imagine what his family and friends are going through right now.  Things like that really put into perspective what is important and not-so important in our lives.  My families thoughts are definately with that young man!

My two boys have severe Hemophilia, the bleeding disorder.  They both have bad joint pains, but my little guy actually has arthritis since he was 8 in his knees. He's been in a wheelchair for a few weeks and braces on his legs like a little Gump.  He has been on Vicodin for elbow pain. When they feel sorry for themselves and have to go to the doctor they are reminded how LUCKY they are.  They are treated in the oncology clinic where all the child cancer patients are treated, it breaks my heart on a regular basis, the poor families and friends...my kiddies are doing ok for now, be strong Jim my thoughts are with you and your friend...

JimR,
Just a thought.  Don't really know any other info than what posted sorry to here the news.  Don't know if you are planning on going to Sac.,  but if you are and it wouldn't be to much on him.  I know any 8 year old would have a blast at good VW show.  Might take his mind off of the things he's been threw lately and let him have a blast........

YES,how correct some of you are
prayer is a great comforter, for both
the patient and their family, and the
               physician and assistants .

              God"s word is creative power.The
worlds were framed by the word of
God.Confessing the word of God can
also change your world. It can change
an image of sickness into an image of
              healing and health.

" You have given me abundant life. I receive
that life through Your Word and it flows to
every organ of my body bringing healing and health."
