Ok, Calif. is trying to pass a bill AB2448 that mandates only 10% adults and the rest is to be High School students only very soon.
When was the last time you visited a HS industrial class on campus? No, they have been long gone......they don't know what even a Phillips screwdriver is and even their parents don't either!
I could not have started and run my own business if it wasn't for the industrial classes I took in High School, but with todays HS exit test they have to pass to graduate, they don't have or want to take any other classes.
If this bill goes thru, all the pass years and current HS students that get out into the real world of getting a job or career, will be without a safety net like ROP (Regionial Occupational Programs, free job training) gives them and adults.
It is amazing within my own Plastics ROP class that adults learn from the HS students and the HS students learn from the adults too, but that will end soon. My CCROP is nearly 70% adults to HS students....including recently HS grads too! In a class of 30, will then have only 3 adults....and the adults also helps me to watch the HS students from hurting themselves or mischief too!
Anyways, Please E-mail the Calif. Governor and Senators to oppose AB2448:
