Check out this demo from a band in Ibiza, Spain. Two of the members are the offspring of members of Duran Duran. Andy Taylor Jr., son of guitarist Andy Taylor and James Taylor, the drummer Roger Taylor's son.

ok, so i'm blatantly threadjacking here. i wasn't so into that band. but hey... i would like to see a roll call here.

what have you bought lately that's good, and "new" to you? here are mine in no order.

-neko case, "fox confessor brings the flood"/"the tigers have spoken"/"blacklisted": reminds me of grace slick mixed with female country greats. great lyrics, great live show, the band is awesome (pedal steel guy is *insane*). the cover of "soulful shade of blue" is just great. "widow's toast," live, gave me literal goosebumps.

-twilight singers, "powder burns":  greg dulli ex afghan whigs' new band. dig it heavily, but maybe not as good as the previous "blackberry belle." insanely good live.

-band of horses: my morning jacket meets jane's addiction.

-morwells meet king tubby: if you like dub, check this out. nice version of the "if that mockingbird don't sing" guitar rhythm on the pegasus rock with hella chopped up and reverbed-to-f*k vox.

-tortoise and bonnie "prince" billy (ex palace music), "the brave and the bold."  the cover of springsteen's Thunder Road is wild.  nothing like the original, but still completely awesome.  the elton john "daniel" cover is also pretty hot.

-yeah yeah yeahs, "fever to tell." not new, but i finally broke down and bought it. sexy noisy stuff. i half want to nail the singer based on the lyrics and her voice, but then again 75 percent of me wants to run in fear. yes, that adds up to more than 100 percent.

I just saw Neko a month or two ago in Phila., and it was great.  John Rahouse (steel player) was smokin'!
