Went to see "Cars" with my little girl today.... I was so impressed with how true they stayed to the style of the cars.... Most movies they let the artists hodge podge the cars out of all different styles.... You could actualy tell what each car was.... I think I enjoyed it more than my daughter did.....

My kids gave the same thumbs up review. They went w/ Grandma and Grandpa Friday night, and loved it! Now I have to go see it...

The flies are the best.... That's what my son tried to explain to me... "the bugs were bugs..." Try to picture a 6 year old trying to explain that to his smart @$$ dad. That was good for about 10 minutes before his mom came to his rescue!

the only voice i didn't nail was the green racecar... was suprised that it was Batman, but he did great. oh, and can you believe the 'critics' loved it, but then gave it an A-/B+ review? morons!
this movie is doc hollywood with cars, but it is better, funnier and conveys the point better. oh, and the credits are a hoot! don't leave 'til it's over

My buddy Rick Eichler that painted my car, was asked to paint a Hudson Hornet to be used at various movie premiers around the state. The car in the movie is the character Doc Hudson and the voice is Paul Newman. The car came out very nice with only three weeks notice, probably why we didn't make the "Classic" show.

I just got back from the drive in. That was a great movie. I like the character Mater. That made the movie for. Larry the Cable fit the part perfect. The movie was put togther very well. I thought the bugs where cool. I liked how they did the ricers up in that one part. How many wings did that green car have ? -Jacob-

I saw it Sunday and enjoyed the heck out it! Pixar's studios is not too far away from where I live. While getting my truck smogged a couple months ago I happened to bump into a guy who said he was their head marketing director for that film. A car guy himself, he was telling me they used a lot of consultants to get it right... Looks to me like they got it right on the money.
The whole southwest route 66 backdrop was a nice touch also, I just took a mini-roadtrip this May from Albuqurque and Santa Fe... Loooooove the desert during springtime. I've been facinated by the history of that road and enjoy the art-deco motels and signs along the way. It is a little sad to you see all the old garages and car related buildings that are now closed down and in decay.

There's a good 'Cars' thread on H.A.M.B (don't mention VW's! ), explains some of the accuracies. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=108775Taken from the thread: "...nearly all the road furniture and buildings are car related, eg the pistons holding up the canopies that have spark plugs as roof lights. And the diner in the background is an air filter. 1. We made the spark plugs on the roof of Flo's light up in the same sequence of a flathead v-8 firing order 2. Cloud trails in the sky are tire tread patterns 3. We used 59 Caddy and 54 Ford tailight lenses for background flowers 4. The front of the courthouse is a giant Moto-Minder radiator cap Thats all your getting for now-- You guys will find the rest!!"
