I got to thinking about going out every weekday, and trying to find something worth having for lunch. What comes to mind is way back in the early '70s, when I briefly worked for Fleming & Aronson, we came up with a solution. Ron created this large circle with an arrow nailed to the wall. About every couple of inches, there was a listing; Mac-Ds, Wiener-deal, Carls, Heinz 57, etc, and some small sandwitch place down by Berg's old shop named Whimpy's. Now, each day, one of us, usually Ron, would take a spin on the Lunch Roulette, and according to the rules, where the arrow landed, that's where we were suppose to go to lunch. This was designed to take all the arguments out of the daily lunch quest. Yeah, right. What happen was there was a "design" flaw in the Wheel-O-Lunch, and more than a few times, Whimpy's kept coming up for lunch. Ron constantly protested, because he hated Whimpy's, and wanted a retake. This ended up solving nothing, and we still agrued about where in the hell we would go to lunch. The Lunch Roulette finally got ripped off the shop wall. RIP. Anyone remember Whimpy's, or for that matter, Heinz 57?
