It's foolish and dangerous.

The belt if obviously very loose already so it's not like you could actually drive the car that way for any period of time.

So why would anyone try it?

because it's a neat trick, is why someone would try it. i didn't say i'd do it.  I hadn't thought about the looseness of the belt (i was trying to figure out how the screwdriver did not become a javelin pointed at your face, but that is why).

Nope... just some people aren't very smart and the more it's posted around the more some 16 year old would be stupid enough to try it on a engine with a correctly adjusted belt and have it embedded in his forehead.

I'm just afraid of the saying "Stupid should hurt".
