depending on which way you look at it  Grin

my idea is with bank of america and their "keep the change" offer ...

if youre not a bank of america customer , you need to join using an existing customer as referal .
you dont need to have a referal , but they pay you BOTH $25.00 !!!

so strait away you are 25 in profit , or if your wife refers you its 50  Cool

you need to open both savings and checking accounts , 25.00 in each to open .

for the next stage of the plan , you enrol in the "keep the change" program .
this rounds-up all purchases on your card and transfers them to the savings account ...
eg : spend $10.02 , 98cent goes into your savings account .
an handy way to save , but heres the thing .....

b.o.a. match your savings for ther first 3 months , upto a limit of $250.00  Grin

now thats a lot of change , and a lot of purchases ......

heres the work you have to do (nothings really free)
you need to go to fuel stations that take cards at the pump , make sure you press credit and not debit , and my local mobil charges .45c so they're out .

you need to insert your card , select grade , and put $1.01 in   Roll Eyes
this transfers .99 to your savings , then b.o.a. match it !!
your gas just cost you 2 cents  Shocked
you can only do it twice , then you get a "see cashier" message ... time to move on ..
i have a cross junction local with 3 gas stations on it . i can fill my tank quarter full everyday for about 6 cents !!!!!!!

dont forget , they transfer the keep-the-changes everyday , so after the first week you have saved enough to withdraw the 25bucks you originally had to fork out to open the account and put it into your checking account to spend on more fuel (or 99cent tacos) Wink.

you only do this for 3 months , as thats there limit .
and only to $250 , as thats also there limit .

you and your referer have to wait about 3 months for your 25's .
and keep-the-change is matched if youre still enrolled in 12 months .

so this isnt a "smash and grab" thing , just using there limits and there rules to your advantage . but you do need to keep the account open for 12 months (until they pay out)

and after all .... we all need fuel and cheap tacos  Grin

BTW :

i have had an email from bank of america's fraud department asking me to call asap as my card was on hold due to "irregular activity" ......
this is a good thing !!!
i'd like to know if some idiot had my card and was doing 6 transactions of approx. $1.02 at 3 different gas stations all within 10 minutes Smiley

76 seem to have fallen out with me too , and keep giving me the "please see cashier" message ...

Bank of America sucks balls. $8.00 for a monthly maintenance fee. Roll Eyes, if you don't have direct deposit. They can stick their bank up their arse. I kept $1000+ in my checking account for 4 years and they couldn't cut me a break, so screw them. I went to a credit union (Sofcu) 2 years ago and have absolutely true free checking. BofA can go down with the rest of them greedy a-holes.
