I just bought tickets to see Bill Cosby at the Silver Legacy in Reno on the 13th, taking my wife for her birthday. In my opinion, Bill Cosby is probably the greatest comedian of all time, nobody has ever matched his comedic genius. Not to mention, he has accomplished this without ever needing an "R" rating on any of his humor. With such complete idiot "comedians" in history such as Sam Kinison and Andrew Dice Clay, who arent funny but rely on foul language and dirty subject matter to try and be funny, Bill Cosby tops em all. John Candy was another of my favorites, and even Sinbad is damn funny. I have a DVD copy of "Bill Cosby, Himself", Ive been watching that video since I was a kid. That routine is probably the most accurate, true-to-life and funniest performance of all time. If you've never seen it, and you're married and have kids, you dont know what you're missing--- go get it immediately.

Any other Bill Cosby fans out there?

Dude...
I had the Bill Cosby Himself cassette tape I used to listen to non-stop as a kid.  "But dad, I'm Jesus Christ..." never stops being funny.

Erik, if you have time make sure you stop off at the Nugget (next to Fitzgeralds) and go to the dinner in the back and have the Awful Awful Cheeseburger!

I was a big fan of the real early stuff that came out on vinyl... one particular album cover with Bill sitting on a homemade go-kart, I listen too almost non-stop one summer

the stories about "My brother Russel...."
the famous chicken heart: "...and the chicken heat, grew...plum-plum...plum-plum"

about 15 years ago Bill was trying to breath some life into the struggling career of road racing standout Willey T Ribbs. He was on a mission to get him an Indy car ride. In an ESPN interview I listened as Bill pulled out the race card, and seemed to be claiming Willey hadn't been getting a ride because of the color of his skin. "Why is it that a blackman with his resume can't seem to secure a ride at Indy?" or something real close to that. Hell, plenty of arguably more talented drivers, tan, brown, yellow, pink or green never get chance at a ride at Indy, gimme a break...  I've never really felt the same about Mr. Cosby since  Undecided  ...  he's still dam funny though  Smiley

I have all the old Bill cosby albums (yes, I said albums).
I listened to " My life at 200MPH" the other day.
He bought one of the very last Shelby Cobra's.
Dual Paxton superchargers on a 427 side oiler !
But much to Shelby's chagrin, Bill wanted an automatic transmission.
Those records still make me laugh till it hurts.

I have just about every Bill Cosby routine on CD, I have 9 CD's of all the greatest Cosby stuff from the 60's and 70's.

Buck Buck, Fat Albert, Ol' Weird Harold, my brother Russel, all of it. And Garry, its "Jr. Barnes", not Jr. Brown.....you gunky.

"Alright........who put a bullet in the furnace?"

Tom, I had'nt heard that about Bill Cosby, but its hard to believe something like that came from him. Not saying it didnt, just saying that Bill Cosby is usually totally against that kinda crap, which is another reason Ive always liked him. In fact, Ive heard Cosby more than once stand up and preach about just the opposite, the bs "racism" card doesnt fit his m.o.

Yea, it was weird... maybe the two were on the cusp of some deal and he said it for effect? All I know is if ESPN hadn't have showed it twice, I wouldn't have believed it either.

Delirious was funny, but not exactly "kid friendly". Part of the fun of Bill Cosby is that my kids can sit and laugh at it too.

One of my favourite Bill Cosby quotes:

"I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody."

I vividly recall one particular I Spy episode wherein a chase took place in a buzy downtown ... A vw was a main player in the caper and while they were fighting and the bug was swerving, in the background on a MOvie Marquee the words " AIR COOLED" were plainly visible....love to get that on DVD... He was great, as expected. He went for about 1:40, and hella funny. We were only about 30-35 feet from the stage, good seats. Word of advice though.....if you plan to go see Bill Cosby (now 68 years old, so time may be running out!), dont heckle--- he no longer has much patience for hecklers and he'll make you look really stupid.

Also, if you visit Reno, dont bother spending the extra dough to stay at the Silver Legacy--- the rooms are small and not so nice, we were tryin to figure out why the hell we spent $100 when motel 6 was just down the street for $48.

Buck Buck number 3! Man, I haven't heard that routine in over 20 years, and the mention of Buck Buck brought back a flood of memories, and still makes me laugh remembering it!
