Below is my issue/story:
I had seen a ebay ad that didn't hit its reserve, then the ad was listed on theSamba. So i emailed him from his Samba ad. We made the deal from there. The screenshot from his samba ad:

Here's the issue:
The email i sent Sean when after travelling to Buffalo to pick up the parcel from my place in Toronto 5 days ago:
Hi Sean,
Got a message yesterday that your package had arrived. I went down to Buffalo today (4hrs round trip), to pick them up. I got there, opened the package, and found the wheels you sent me were not correct. We had agreed on a the pair of Porsche Fuchs Early Deep, 6"s, that were in your ads on thesamba, and ebay.
From those ads and emails: The wheels have "hearts", 901 part number stamped in the rear of the spoke, and stamped/dated 7-68, and fully polished with clean surfaces. I paid a premium for these as they were stated as "early fuchs" at the agreed price of $900 shipped.
The parcel contained reproduction 15 x 6 "fuchs", with NO features as mentioned above, with badly pitted spokes near the centercap. Weighing in at 15lbs a piece, they are not remotely close to the weight of an early fuchs wheel. They were not late fuchs wheels either. As they had no 911.xxxxxx part number, and were not flat around the ends of the spokes. I know these well as i own a pair of these later 15x6 fuchs.
I have sent the box back to you by UPS with a tracking number 1Z1221510342957611 that will leave/ship the Buffalo office on Monday Feb 16 2009. I did not take a picture of the wheels. I did not have a camera with me to picture the pair that came out of the box.
I hope this was a mix-up on your end, that you can make right.
If you no longer have those wheels, please refund me the $900US.
PeterAgain, no replies to emails, or phone. My bank confirmed the money order was cashed on Jan 23rd. They can push fraud charges through the Wells Fargo Bank in Ohio, which is the securer/issuer of the US funds of the money order my bank issues. No guarantees i get my money back.
Now here is where i am with this:
1) I'll try the forum route first. Hopefully someone local can help me out.
2) I've had success with the FBI's internet fraud service (
http://www.ic3.gov).
The work with the local District Attorney, to get monies owing back from Bill Evans:
http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/watches-show-sell/131403-beware-vicious-william-bill-evans-welder-watch-group-buy.htmlThe parcel was delivered via USPS, mail fraud form:
https://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/forms/MailFraudComplaint.aspx3)I'm contiplating knocking on his door at the addresses above, as i'm on the west coast half a dozen times a year. Possibly visit the local law enforcement office beforehand. I may call them this week, as Investigator Garcia and the Riverside Police Department resolved my issue with the group buy mentioned above.
Anyone here know him? His cars:
