In light of the recent news regarding Mark Herbert, I have decided not to post for 24 hrs immediately following this post. His passing is an extremely significant loss to our family here on the CLF and throughout the global VW community, and I feel its one way I can actively show respect to his family and close personal friends. To me, it just doesnt seem right to learn of something as devastating as his death, and then continue to discuss camshafts, carbuerators, politics, or the Classic as if nothing has happened to a very dear friend.

I know some will say, "But Mark would want us to continue to talk about all things VW, as this was his passion as it is ours." I agree, I believe he would. But a brief moment of silence in his honor seems a very small yet significant way to extend my sympathy and sincere condolence to his close family and friends.

Please, if you feel the same, join me by making a post to share your agreement, then remain silent in a symbolic bowing of heads until 2:00pm Tuesday afternoon.
