Cool, thanks John.  I have a very nice chrome angled version that will be going in my '64 eventually, unless I find a copper angled Hurst, or a DDS (fat chance).

They're definitely cool shifters, that's for sure. I always liked the feel of them. ALMOST as good as Bergs, IMHO.

I had a Berg with the "curved" special Thandle in my '65, it was great, but I think I like the idea of the "ball" shifter better.  So, I guess DDS is out too (unless I fall into a deal on one, I just like those DDS parts for some reason).

Yeah, you'll be happy with the Hurst, then. My DDS shifter is indeed cool, but it's not as robust as the Hurst unit.

I saw an article about Hurst in the Orange County Register, here in CA.  I believe they're in Orange.  They're still making shifters.  We should send requests to bring the VW shifters back.  There's certainly a market for them.
