man o man I have had that experience working at car dealership. Had 3 customers in 17 years working for dealerships that that has happened.

Myself I have experienced it pulling an early 60's beetle in the garage in 1980. The ticket written for hard to start. Nothing said about the breaks. I pull it in and didn't really check the breaks. Well get to the bay door and apply. That  is the weirdest feeling! No pedal resistance and you pump and you think you would just grab the e-brake or turn it off. BUT............

I bounced off the snap on tool box and luckily didnot damage anything!

Yeah, my sister in law accidently drove through the front window of convenience store. Her excuse? "I confused the accelerator with the brake."
