Thats "Mustang Dyno" after a few beers, or a few 70 hour work weeks.
I think I'll swim out to the Litchfield show to see the Darth Turbo car. I'll leave my VW at home and opt for the canoe.
See ya tomorrow Tim!

yeah sorry Pete...the Dyno is at Ocean State Performance here and it a full wheel hp dyno...
well we had a great day at the Litchfeild show...even with the threat of rain...because the car ends up in Radical custom, what was there wasn't a threat I guess...I grabbed a radical custom 1st in class, yeah competition was small but the better is best in show custom which is pretty killer, best engine and even a volks rod and a mild custom...which personally is weird cuz her carf inshed 3rd last year to the same cars but it was a different judge and taste change I guess...
anyways,time to hit the track....

Yeah, a good time had by all I think. Judging at that show varies like Tim said, can be weird, but no complaints. I too like peoples choice awards, more fun. I will try and make the woodstock show this year. The best part was hanging out with all the good people. It is becoming well known that there is good beer, food, coversation, and apple pie moonshine?? under the tents near the 401 Resto's cars! Screw the rain, it was fun. I have never seen such a bad-a$$ car being loaded on the trailer in pouring rain and the owner still has a smile on his face - way to be Tim. I drove my car home in the rain with no wipers or rain X and still had a blast. I don't think I have ever driven it in that much rain before, not used to loosing traction in 2nd gear without trying to. anyways, time to hit the track.... Yes and yes. I will throw some dates at you this week for LVD schedules, anywhere from late July through October.

Man ---Sorry to here about your accident -- they can happen anytime -- Hope your feeling better -- Burns are the worse
Having worked as a Safety dude -- you always teach for everybody to attack a task with the worse possible thing that can happen in your mind --
Having said that -- -- the wife and I dropped a BIG TV on our feet two weeks ago -- landed on her right big toe at the nail bed -- cut her nail in half (DR's had to remove what was left) and they had to put 8 stiches across her toe and broke the toe -- -- landed on the top of the arch of my left foot -- didn't break any bones on me but my foot swelled up to the point where I can't get any shoes on it -- of course there was blood everywhere from the both of us -- we were the talk of the urgent care LOL she was on one side and I was on the other -- we passed each other in wheel chairs coming and going to X-ray room

Glad to hear you are starting to heal, man what a mess. Also glad the shop didn't burn down! Like I said on the phone, don't worry about the car, let yourself heal up. I'm glad to hear you have some help at the shop. If you need any more, let me know, I CAN turn wrenches, AND do $50K paint work... yeah right I know it sucks, but at least you can get some sleep for a while. Don't go too stir crazy!

...well the trans is ALREADY on it's way out. motor is still running strong...REAL strong...but the trans, circlipped axle stubs ain't gonna fly with this thing...threaded diff has to be installed or tapped but after 3 thrown out axle ends anit much left...
new trans from a real shop this thing would kill.
I'm soooooo done blowing money on s==t that ain't worth it...so much time spent waitng and anticipating and what's it worth?...car can barely make it to the car cruises.
sad!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Your running Folts' axel set-up , right? So far you've wasted your money on some joe blow tranny builder, AND had nothing but trouble. You got what you paid for IMO..How can you even think of anyone else but Folts for the trans If you want to be done with this tranny bull crap once and for all, call Dave....It's a no brainer The last Rancho trans I bought lasted a whopping 3 passes

Tim, if the snap ring/ axle issue is the only problem and the trans is out, take some pictures of the offending parts and post them up. Maybe some of the "experts" will chime in and offer a solution.

...Elmo,the diff spit the hub out and wrecked the splines..had to welded on to get the car off the road and back home which was about a mile away.
Pete,I'm working on a trans from Folts right now,you can rest assured this "bull crap trans" thing will be over...I'm smart enough to know no to not have anyone touch my crap...trust me,lesson is learned
I was using Rancho as an example for the fact that I'm looking into new trans and NOT repairing the one I have.

Tim, Great seeing both you and Cindy today at Terryville. I was so happy to shake you hand and feel a firm grip, i'm thrilled that you'll recover from the accident. The car is just incredible and pictures simply don't do it justice. Be well and be safe.

I was depressed to hear of the possible sale of your car at the show yesterday Tim. You have gone through so much BS already and are on the edge of having one hell of a ride. I can only try to understand your frustration with not having it stay together after all the work and money spent. However, I agree with some others here that you should try and stick it out for another winter and get a new trans in there. The car is awesome except for the trans, and we know why that is. If you sold it now, the buyer would put a new trans in and score the deal of a lifetime on the rest of the car. This is truly a project to keep for years - if not for the rest of your living days! It is the wrong economic climate to sell anything right now anyway, especially a car like this. It will also be harder to sell when you can't fully lean on it for a potential customer because of the tranny. I know it means more $$$$, and thats a call you have to make, but getting it reliable and to the track would be well worth it I would think. This car is a one of a kind ride and will be the ultimate street machine when sorted out. God knows I would have thrown in the towel myself, so I can't fault you for anything, but I see you SO CLOSE and would hate to see the car go. I mean really, I have never seen a Pro-Air style VW with a better stance and over-all impression than this car has. Anyway, it was great to see you and Cindy at the show. I was amazed to see your hands looking so good, and to hear it will be a 100% recovery, that is great. You will be back in action in no time. Sorry about buggin out on you guys early, don't hate me Cindy! I would have loved to stay, but my family life can be hectic at times. Yeah yeah, I know, I'm lame

thanks Glenn it's been along time since we seen each other...thanks for the customer referrals as well...Walt loves his '54.
...well said there Rob...
I hear every word you said..and looking at it when every one was gone and she was sitting in the grass awaiting the trailer,Dave and I just looked and said "holy crap that thing is bad ass". I can't even begin to tell you how the hell I'm gonna find another 4k but I have the whole winter to try i guess, and yes it is the wrong time but funds just aren't there as well as time...especially time.
2 "best of shows modified", 2 "modified custom class" and one "best engine" aint to bad I suppose for a car I built in a year.
...when my head clears and I can get back to work, maybe things will be different.
we'll see.
thanks again and we need to do a shop day open house for the ctvwa crew and friends

The good thing about a car is that they can be parked and ignored for a while -- unless the old lady keeps walking by it and saying she hates that damn car -- set on it for a while -- until the time is right to redo/finish it right
Hate to see you walk away from it -- of course it is a bitch to see it setting there and wanting to do something with it too LOL

I had a good time talking to your Dad too, he is a good VW racin guy. I want a golf cart to cruise around in now too. I'm going to try (again-lame) to get down there for E-town this Fall. There is nothing I want to do more than get a 13 second time slip out of my street cruiser. I would love to borrow some 6x26 wide five wheels and slicks for a few runs down the track. Hopefully I can get it done this year!
