Thats why I don't like guard rails at the race track http://videos.streetfire.net/category/Pontiac/1/4c44d55b-4345-4c27-86e3-98cd014ef9db.htm A similiar senario but at local circle track almost killed me 6 years ago. -Jacob-

I'm afraid they're must for spectator saftey. Probably a requirement for their insurance too.

I am assuming gas Cap would rather see concrete instead of metal rails. Obvoiusl you have to have something to contain the cars. Thn again i have ee plenty of videos in Europe with no gaurd rails at all.

That would be the trackside fire extinguisher. No sense jumping into, or having a driver trapped in a burning car.

They just installed concrete walls at Speedworld because of that crash. They make enough money from that event that it should have been done before the 2006 event. My friend had a similar crash like that at the 2005 event. Top end crash in his turbo S-10. The guard rails launched him also at 180+ mph.
Isn't it going to be mandatory for all NHRA tracks to have concrete walls for 2007 ?

NHRA is making our local track put in concrete walls. They are going in at the end of this season. I heard somewhere that once  the track upgraded now ,the incentive was the possiibility of hosting divisonal races there in the future.
