This is by far the biggest event every year at Maryland International Raceway! Last year we had 786 racers at the event and over 10,000 fans, plus another 500 car show entries! There are 7 heads-up classes, 2 index classes, and 2 E.T. classes. Full information and video is at www.importvsdomestic.com

Don't miss this event!

Mickey Thompson Tires is giving away 2 free drive tires to winners in all classes, under the contingency program. You must be running a Mickey Thompson sticker on both sides of your car and be using Mickey Thompson Tires during the entire event to be eligible. They will also be at the event with their 18 wheeler selling and mounting tires all weekend. Click below for more details:

Thanks Jerry, yes it is a great event and the biggest on the MIR schedule. It would be great to get some more VWs in the racing and the car show.

Drag Racing's very own Jessica Barton (aka Supragrl93) will be hosting the 2010 U.S. Army World Cup Finals at Maryland International Raceway on November 6-7, 2010. The famous model owns and drives a 9-second Toyota Supra herself and has been a staple in the drag racing modeling world for the last several years. Jessica will be hosting the Car Show awards on Sunday at the WCF as well as the famous $2,000 WCF Bikini Contest on Sunday. She will also be greeting racers on Saturday and be available in the Pit Area for photo shoots with race cars and autographs. Also, Jessica will be the 2010 WCF Trophy girl standing in all the Winner's Circle photographs, so good luck to all WCF racers! Click Link below for more details:

3. Ricky Silvia 9.30/159
4. Matt Lennen 9.37/146
5. Robert Mapps 9.48/162
6. Wilson Velez 9.66/155
7. Jose Ortiz 9.667/150
8. Alan Von Ahnew 9.669/135
9. Marcos Hernandez 9.72/154
10. Ryan Hecox 9.737/137
11. Todd Pavics 9.739/151
12. Teddy Weaver 9.77/137
13. Jerry Lewis 9.82/139
14. Rodrigo Guardado 9.89/147
15. Jason Vaugh 9.90/137
16. Robbie Pafumi 9.92/136

I had a great time this past weekend.  ALL the workers at MIR worked there butts off this weekend.  We understood that we had to back out and not run elims, just did'nt understand why we were even called to the lanes.  We were packed up and ready to go home. Thanks to Jason Miller and crew for another incredibly insane event! We held our own with 42 cars trying to make a 16 car field.  Rob fell in somewhere around 19 so both VW's put on one hell of a show, imo!
