Well I have clearance from my financial manager (wife) to attend one event in the US this year (2009).

My choices are the BugIn, the Classic or the finals in Vegas.  Any suggestions?

I think it depends what you are looking for. If it's a good time and great racing Vegas would be the choice (I highly doubt last years oil downs will repeat) Not only is this a VW event but it's Vegas Baby.

If you want some good racing an ok show in a 1 day event Bug In is good too.

Classics is the big one and it pretty much starts Thurs. at Irwindale with Nicks being the place to be on Fri. several choices from BBQ's to OCTO to the Berg Rally on Sat. then the biggest VW show on earth Sun.

Vegas and or spring sac for drag racing.

i know sac isnt on your list but it has the biggest and best swap meet, most all racers will be at it so thiers good racing, and the croud is usually bigger too.

vegas has lots of stuff going on throughout the weekend.  lot of socializing and good fun.

I did think if spring Sac but figured that it's too far from the race shops in So Cal.  But I will consider it.  So the spring show is better than the fall show?

Hey Paul,

Now that's more like it.  I guess i'll have to leave my wife behind.... Smiley

If I remember correctly Vegas is in October, right?  This would mean that it shouldn't be that hot, or is it?  It would be nice if this race would be a week before SEMA.  I could do both events.

Terry go to Vegas.

I went to the BugIn and Vegas this year. 2nd time in Vegas. Tons of fun.

You could bring the wife and hit up some shows! She'll like it, and inthe future you'll have approval for Vegas PLUS another VW show.

Hey Pete, you know that sounds like the plan.  Now I need to convince her to go.  Vegas in October, should be fun.  Are you going to the Bug In this year? Vegas?

Pete has the right idea.... take her to some shows...my wife goes to ALL the events I attend, she,s the Crew Chief as well tho....

Go to the MGM website and check out the Cirqe de Solei , KA Show... it is spectacular, ..
the Circque show at Treasue Island is also very good,

Treasure Island also has the Free Pirate show with those Scantily Clad Show Girls ....its very cool... Grin

The Dinner show at Excaliber , "Tournemant of Kings" is a Blast too.

These are just a couple of the shows to see tho....

if you stay at a Hotel on The Strip , about Midnight you can watch the "Hookers" in action in front of any of the Big Hotels,  last year I got a couple of em to Accost me,....kinda amusing for us  Cheesy

just havin FUN! Grin  Grin  Grin
