Who did they get to sponsor it, hopefully they won't bring along the jr dragsters to clog up things.

THanks for the Heads Up Bill!  I guess you will be spectating this event. LOL! (Sorry Buddy, Had to take a jab!).  I've got Battle of the Imports that same weekend at MIR but I'm on the fence about it.  It's alot more fun hangin with my 'Bros.

Sounds Fun!

Steve, Scott & Jerry I don't know who the sponsor is , at least not yet, will let you all know soon as I get info !    Yeah it's gonna suck being a spectator for sure, but the worst thing about this is they changed the date that they usually had it, which was the weekend before, for YEARSSSSS  !  now I have to change my vacation around, cause I was off before !  yuk!!

If you need help in the lanes or pits Jerry I'm there bro!

To bad they picked that date. that is the same weekend as the Northern Challenge at Motormile Dragway in Redford, VA!
We will have double payout for the Winners in each class! Check out our website for the details.

We had spoken to Maple Grove last year about an event, but it didn't go through with us. They were aware that the 14th we already had an event planned in VA.

Keith went to Maple Grove back in Sept of 08 and spoke to Lex in person.
He knew at that time, that our VA event was on the 14th of June for 09. So I don't know why he decided to still do it, unless he was thinking that The Miles crew was still going to do the one in Pittsburgh, which of course they are not. That one in Pittsburgh is now us (Pittsburgh Classic) and will only be once a year. Sept 13, 09

I really wish that some would check out event dates of others before choosing a date. It hurts the whole VW Community as a whole to have them make a decision on which to go to! But since tracks are not in touch with the VW Community they just don't know where to look I suppose. I hate to see it when things like that happen!

Keith and I were really looking forward to getting the event at Maple Grove started back again for the VW Community, but talks between us and the Track owners just did not come to agreement between each other and therefore the track decided to do it on their own.

I owuldn't worry there is NO money at the maple grove event. Guys aren't gonna show up when you are paying a whole 300 or whatever it is bucks to the winner only. Racecars cost money to build and VW's aren't cheap when they are running fast times.

Hell, its not even the fact that theres no money...its the fact that they wont even POST how much is up to win! Thats them covering there ass when only 6 cars show up and all the while deterring anyone else form coming because of it!
