     Harold,

This event is HUGE for Barona , the only bigger event I have seen here was the "Arm Drop" gig with Rich Christianson, there were so many people at that that Wildcat Canyon Rd. was lined with cars parked,.......

the spectator stands will be FULL, Pit Space is a PREMIUM,..... a lot of guys roll in on Saturday and camp out overnight (its FREE),.... Saturday is a "Private Session" (we were very fortunate to be invited), we,ll be there Sat. morning, run all day and leave the car overnight to get "Our Spot".......
I would suggest you come on in on saturday and stay overnight, ...otherwise you might have to pit down the return road somewhere, (altho there are some nice big trees to pit under down there)......

You can purchase tickets at the Barona website, www.baronadrags.com , or buy them at the gate, you can save a couple of bucks on-line tho.....

Quote from Fast fiat, ....   "Barona Rules"... Grin

I can save you a "Spot".

When you drive in past the "Toll Booth" , keep going straight,... We pit behind the spectator bleachers, We usually pit next to our truck and trailer, this event is usually so full we have to pit behind our trailer in the intrest of "Space" for everyone.......

If you are in line at 5:30 you,ll be sure to get this spot..

I will not be there that early, ....my car will be there tho.. (the wife does not Camp-Out)

On these Antique Days it gets quite crowded so they make us pit behind our trailer, on regular days we usually pit next to our trailer under the canopy. (lots of space)

What I will do Saturday night is pit NEXT to our trailer under the canopy,  When I get there, (about6:30am) I,ll move the canopy behing our trailer and pit there, you can have the spot right next to us. I,m guessing this is going to be another packed house....
Barona is not a huge facility, when it,s crowded it gets cramped, it usually is not very crowded....just the "regulars", a bunch of V-8 guys that are Gambling Fools,( and I live to HARRASS em) Grin..... a lot of them wont be there on this day tho....73 and Older cars..

These events are also worth a Very Nice Trophy..

Fastest 4 Cyl. gets a Nice one

Whats yer best 1/8 , Harold?  Grin

Sucky ----LOL  Still trying to get a handle on the suspension -- don't want to sissy sticks on it but with the new swing arms it's a wheel standing fool --- aand when it starts reaching for the stars my rear starts puckering like it was sucking lemons LMAO

So we were playing with tire pressure at drag day == running at 22 psi and still pulling about a 2-4" wheelie and smoking the tires at launch -- 2nd pass was my quickest ever -- bogged at launch -- had put a 4 puck in -- ran a 8.31 at 89.9999 on two cylinders -- had blown out a intake gasket middle of 2nd gear -- so if everything goes good maybe a mid to high 7 sec pass possible.

I just want a pass that doesn't break something === please somebody treat me right --- just one win light please

I,m gonna try , Dave. ......Lookin to go 6.30s

The Lauffer Bros, will not make this event this year (prior engagement) so I might have a shot at the fastest 4 Cyl.Trophy,
otherwise, I,d be a little short, (actually a LOT SHORT)
The younger son is home on leave and has never been in the car yet,......( I,m VERY Excited)
       Tomorrow he,ll get his chance.....

How did you guys run??.... Huh Cool

Saturday was a Track Rental Day and only about a dozen cars were making passes,...many people were loading In for Sunday but not running today, (they were all PARTYING).....
Our younger son, who is on Leave has never driven the car so today is his day!

He got three passes in and was Giddy after the first pass, ran a best of 7.87
Dad hops in the car and SMOKES the clutch in all four gears on the Bottle.

The Older son is just getting off work so I call him to stop at the house and pick up the Four Puck.
We pull the motor and find the needle bearings in the Gland nut are GONE, the Daiken disc is toasted.......
(the wife and Son #1 head home)
This is where the Story gets Good.......
Fortunately for me The Lauffers are out testing. The decision is made to toss the motor in the truck and head to the shop, (45 minute drive)
Kris gets the New Gland nut on and we pick up a New Stage 2 PP....
We arrive back at Barona right when the Sun sets,
the Kid and I get the motor in and running in about 30 minutes,  cover the car and head home.........

Sunday morning arrive about 6:30 and meet Harold in his Pit.
Very Nice to see the Little Blue Fiat at Barona!

About 160 cars today , packed lanes all Day!
The kid went out partying, didnt get home till 3:30 am so I did not expect him out at the track too soon.

Made two passes, Smoked a Muscle car with a 6.81@ 104 and got a Solo pass with a 6.78@ 105.....
car would not start after dying back at the pit, seem to have a Starting systen gremlin all of a Sudden...
hung out for the rest of the day watching the races, got a couple of Vids of Harold in the Fiat.....

The best part of the whole weekend (for ME) was pulling the motor with my Son, going to VWP for the repair and getting the motor back in and firing it up......PRICELESS..  he had a lot of FUN as well.

Oh yeah, and meeting Harold and seeing the little Blue Fiat at Barona!

Great time at Barona -- Ran 8.5's and 8,6's all day at 90 mph on 10 lbs of boost -- Everybody seemed to like the car

Kinda created a stir with the first pass I made

I was mugging for the camera -- could you tell Huh?? LOL

This was the first of a four picture set the guy took -- even had a big stand after it touched and I grabbed second  yeeeeeee haw

Pat -- -- You would not have had to worried about traction -- -- at least the first thing in the morning -- I was spining the tires pretty good in the afternoon -- but I was running 22 psi in them and I really didn't want to try to chase the track conditions by lowering the tire pressure
