So I know we have all this talk about the Unlimited Street at Motormile in June, BUT the Street CHallenge will be here within a couple of months! We need to get some more sponsors in on this event! Right now we have InRange(Troy) in on it, but no more. I had talked to Vintage Performance a couple of months ago, but haven't heard from them latley. Will give them a phone call. If you are interested in sponsoring this class, please let me know. Would like to get quite a few involved with it, so we have more to give out. All the money that is raised for this, will be for this class only! Here is the list of rules http://www.sevwa.com/street.htmAny questions? Just ask!

Im in. I personally don't agree with the spool rule either. A spool is streetable, but no front brakes, slicks, and lexan windows are defitently not street legal. Let the WAR begin !!

Anybody talked to Ann and Kurt at Vintage Performance? I know I called them before the new year and haven't heard back from them. Tried to call today and got the machine again. Hope everything is good with them! What about the Florida boys? They up for the challenge again? Maybe we can get some of the BKC in on it again!

No, more like 300 :-) At least long enough to get some heat soak in the engine and at speeds unfavorable to oil temps... I'd say cruise at 75 MPH for no less than 1/2 hour! we'll be at an SCCA event that weekend making plenty of heat, in the tires!

Hell yea, I'm driving my car from the dyno to he track. And I got 100 bucks for any car that makes the most Hp on the dyno and makes it to the track under it's own power. $5 dollars to cruz an you get a wndow sticker.

Who's calling the FLORIDA boys out!!
I'm in new parts are in the house,,, got plenty of time before march to test and tune. I've used about 25 rods with the tig trying to get the manifolds just right though!
I will not be dynoing the car in GA. it will be a total secret till you see me at the track on SUNDAY for the race. I've got something for your 11.40's. And yeas its all street, no turbo"my 14 year old can make a VW go fast with a hair dryer"
We'll see what else the FLORIDA boys can bring out. I heard that the old JOHN ROGERS car is being re done. NOBODY saw that car run,, but I drove it and look out!! Didnt brake the seat when I launched it , like I did in my car but its a runner!!
Marquese where you at,, you got that NOS set up yet...OOOPS spilt that one sorry Mike! Yeah the dragon may come out of orange blossom!

I'd like to participate with my 63 but I don't think a stock carbed 1600 with a big bore kit and engle 100 is going to be very competitive. I got a friend I am building a 2110 for as we speak and Ronnie Hunter is building his tranny. If Ronnie and I come through on our ends before March (which is very do able) then he said he may run his 60 in the Street event. I am trying to talk Caveman on the STF to run his 67 with the 1776 I did as well. So I may have an engine or two in it. As for me I will be running Pro class with my 69 "Project Drag Baja" Don't think it would last in the cruise, and if they crusied at 75 mph my motor would be toast in no time with the 4th gear I got. Can't wait!
I am just praying that the weather is nice.

Kevin, this event is all about fun! Don't worry about all the smack talking! These guys just love pushing the others buttons! Last year we had approx 30 cars in the Street Challenge. Even some of the BKC did it! They aren't going to do cruising at 75mph! The cruise will only take you around the back roads of Reynolds and Fort Valley, so max speed is only like 55. But then I am sure you will see some of them go over that! I know they did last year! Just get the cars ready and bring them on out for a weekend of fun! Some of these guys even dynoed their car last year at Dyno Day.

1) No fuel can be added between the cruise & the race or during the competition at any time unless the car. 2) Cars are not allowed to visit their pit spot at any time after they have been scaled. No work is to be done on the vehicle once racing has begun. (Timing, fan belt, air pressures are allowed exceptions to this rule.) Fan belt may be removed prior to making a pass.
Gay ass rules that make no sense. What happens if your car breaks on a winning pass. Are you supposed to clap your hands and magically fix your car? So if you are low on gas you and you are gonna run out you lose the race and your car gets stuck out in the middle of the track holding everyone up, real bright.

1. Don't break, this class is intended for street driven cars and not high strung drag cars. 2. Gas up, a street car should be able to hold enough gas to cruise 20 miles and make 3 quarter mile passes.

If your car breaks, you lose! It's for street cars, the car should be durable enough to last the contest.

In 2006 we had no problems with the 20+ cars that entered the class. Even if one of them did get lost on the cruise! Everyone had a great fun time doing it! No complaints!

Bad @ss vehicles there even if they are not street cars. Dunebuggy Dale is doing a bunch of work to his too. He's definately one to look out for next year.
