My little 205 drag radials skate around on good days -- and I don't think thursday night's traction is gonna be listed anywhere near a good day
I've seen Richies pictures and my reactions aren't anywhere near as fast as his -- except to when it comes to laying down the skids -- in the shorts that is

I am going but as a spectator again...  I will have the video camera out there. Spoke with Hector yesterday and he has a grudge match against a CRX that can run 125-130 in the 1/8. Now I have to see that... Anyone else? Richie? |

No, the grudge match did not happen but Hector ran a 5.94 @ 117 and the Honda ran a 5.80 @ 127

What a night -- I havn't been down the track in over a year and I've decided I suck at driving LOL -- -- First pass I got a million things in my mind - thinking about Richie and his passes last week, BLAH BLAH BLAH, so anyway I come up to the box do a nice second gear burnout and got this loud ass car lined up next to me so he pre stages and I'm not liking where I'm lined up so I back up and move over a few feet then stage (probably taking more time than I should cause I'm old and I don't want to screw too bad) so the sportsman lights come down and the stupid sucker next to me leaves on the second light (a .312 reaction time LOL probably afaraid of being beaten by a Fiat ) -- Damn -- freaks me out, I'm staring with my jaw dropping and then I realize oh crap I should be going (a 1.529 reaction time) But I really nail it dropping it off the 2 speed at 5500 and HOLY CRAP the thing starts skying the front end and taking a left turn -- I whimpy out and lift (2.038 60') -- -- when it sets back down I figure it didn't really move to the left that much so I get back into it the boost settles down at about 10 lbs and I start chasing down the other car which by this time is at half track -- then the Fiat starts laying down at the top of second and a few second into third -- WTF -- so I lift and coast through with a 9.044 at 81.66 trying to figure out what is going on -- -- so I stop at the truck grap some tools a set of plugs and hot lap back to lanes. Looking at the plugs you can see where they have been fat but there is also evidence of a lean condition too so I'm scratching my head. So I throw in a new set of plugs, lean out the main, bring on round two, about this time Richie is getting ready for his first pass where he needs a 6.39 to get his license -- so I help him and his great girlfriend and get him to the line -- Man, that car hauls ass, he runs easy (for him)out of the hole and runs a 6.41 misses it by .02 Damn -- Next time -- so they start pulling cars from my lane and I run back and get ready -- -- OK deep breaths (not use to running LOL) so I decide I'll just drive the car off the line and not get up on the two speed -- Lights come down, I'm in the middle of a power nap (1. 38 RT) and the rat rod I'm running against is GONE and naturally I immediately bog out the gate (didn't wheel stand!!!!) I get the Fiat spun back up and nail second (2.029 60' with a bog) -- then the Freaking front end start coming up on me so I kind of lift (I hate changing my depends at the track) and get back into it and about this time the car starts laying down on me again -- This is starting to piss me off -- Hit third goes a little bit and starts laying down so I back out of the throttle and it starts picking up a little -- 8.706 @ 82.91-- I'd be scratching my head at this point but my helmet is in the way -- so I park the car for the night and watch Hector, John and Lance empty red cups and cuss my luck (I've learned not to work on my cars when I'm pissed/flustrated because the tool I usually end up using is a big f'ing hammer) -- so the night progresses RIchie make another attempt and runs a 6.54 and then for his third attempt as we are pushing him to the line and he fires his motor something isn't right and he shuts it down. I'll let him pass on what is up.
Damn I love racing LMAO
Pulled the fuel filter this morning and it is OK -- pulled the pick up tube and it has 50 years of crap on the screen so I think I found what some of my problems are. The rest is the loose nut behind the wheel
