Norcal Aircooled's 3rd Annual NagBBQ

When:
Saturday, August 23rd 2008 10:00 am.

Where:
Robert W. Crown State Beach, Alameda CA.

The beautiful "City View" Picnic Area has been chosen once again for our Annual BBQ. There are BBQ Pits, Picnic tables, horseshoes, and views of the Bay and SF. This is a Potluck event, so bring a dish and some beverages. For those of drinking age, alcohol is permitted. Also, there will be a raffle (last year's was a big one ).

Park opens at 10:00 am, get there early for good parking!

Directions:

Southbound:
Take I-880 S toward SAN JOSE.
Take the ramp toward BROADWAY/ ALAMEDA.
Stay STRAIGHT to go onto 5TH ST.
Turn SLIGHT LEFT toward ALAMEDA.
Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto WEBSTER ST TUBE
Turn SLIGHT LEFT onto CONSTITUTION WAY.
CONSTITUTION WAY becomes 8TH ST.
Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto WESTLINE DR.

Turn RIGHT into Crown Memorial Beach at OTIS ST.

Northbound
Take Park St / 23rd st exit in Oakland
Take park st. Bridge into Alameda
Turn RIGHT on Otis.
Otis dead ends at the beach entrance

there is a $5.00 charge at the kiosk, extra for dogs.

SF Bay Area FOOD DRIVE:
We would like NAG members to start collecting non perishable food items to be donated to a local food bank in Pleasanton. Please bring items out to the the Oct. 10th meet.
We will collect food on the Oct. 10th meet + the Nov. 14th meet. Greg is going to collect from the Sacramento members at their Nov. 8 meet. We would like to organize a cruise to the food bank to deliver what we have collected. We ask members that want to participate in the cruise to bring with them (if they can) a frozen turkey. We could meet at Round Table, take last minute donations & cruise from there.

We can also invite all the other local VW clubs to join in with us. They could either join up with us at Round Table on send donations with one of their members that will be going to a NAG meet.
I plan on asking for donations from my family, friends & co-workers & feel that I could easily collect 100 cans of food & a couple of turkeys on my own. If we promote this right we could end up with a couple of buses full of food & 50 turkeys.
Deadline for donations is November 15th.
Everyone will receive 1 raffle ticket per can donated as well.

Sacramento area FOOD DRIVE:
Food Drive has been expanded to October 8 & Novenber 11, 2008.

It's that time of year when we open our hearts and our cupboards to donate some non perishable foods for the less fortunate. In this time of belt tightening it's even tougher for the less fortunate. To help make the holidays a little bit brighter for those in need, NorCalAirCooledGroup.com (NAG) will be collecting goods to be delivered to a local charity group.
NAG's regular monthly meetings, October 11 & November 8, 6pm will be the evenings to cruise out to the K-mart parking lot at Sunrise Blvd @ Hwy 50 with a can or 2. We will be giving out a raffle ticket for every can you donate to win a gift that evening.
It's a feel good event for a good cause and your chance to win a prize.

Starting this weekend Sac NAG will be collecting non perishable food products. For each can donated you will get a raffle ticket.
We will be meeting at the usual NAG meeting site at
K-mart parking lot 6pm
