On Saturday, June 2nd, the city of Marysville, Ca will host the 9th Annual Hot Rod Jamboree, benefitting the UC Davis Children's Hospital and the Children's Miracle Network. I don't know about you, but I can't think of too many charities more deserving than those.
The city of Marysville will close off about 5 city blocks on D St. in the heart of historic (1800's) downtown Marysville from 8am to 5pm and reserve all parking/traffic to show cars and related activities. Last year the show attracted over 300 beautiful street rods, customs, bikes, and race cars from all over the state. This year they expect 350+ as the show has shown a steady rate of growth since it's inception in 1998. Procedes from the show (your $20 registration fee plus a percentage of income from all vendors) goes to help sick children at the above mentioned charities. The show is open to all makes and models pre-1973, so if you're so inclined, bring your VW street or race car and have a great time! If you've never shown your VW at a mostly American car show, you'll be shocked at the attention and admiration it will get! WAY more fun than taking your VW to a VW-only show, I gaurantee ya that.
Please P/M me for more info and for a registration form, the HotRod Jamboree website is down right now and I'm not sure why.
