just curious what kind of parking, security, etc is at excaliber for truck/trailer setup. i have never paid attention to it when i stayed there in past.
thats awsome what your doing for swap, show n shine etc. theres plenty of room there for lots of activities in the parking lot.

Skeeter is absolutely going to be there (sorry, Vegas, but it's your own damn fault you put on your shows there)...  Still don't know if my entourage is coming with me, but yes, I'll be making the trip IN MY CAR like last year... anyone want to join me? Leaving Friday morning, 6AM from Long Beach, getting there around 11AM so I don't miss the Classic V-Dubs open house. |

Yeah, I realize that, but I'm not able to make it out there on Thursday-- Friday is the best I can do, since my room at the Sahara looks like it's only good for 3 days, and I definitely need to stay Sunday... |

HELLO GANG! It's been a long time since I've posted.... my architecture business "was" booming, back to a saner pace.... we're alive and well, holding on with 8 talented staff.... starting to play VWs a little more, ahhhhhh.
FRIDAY NITE BBQ at RICHARDSON'S? I'm waffling whether to burn some brisket or pulled pork in the smoker for you guys Friday night..... maybe stop by before/after the Findlay VW Cruise in Henderson.... if there's enough interest I'll plan on it - if not, that's OK and I'll cruise with the rest of you.... SHOUT OUT!!!

Okay, I guess I'm not going. The S@h@r@ gave me the runaround with my room rate, quoting that they were a host hotel for a convention that weekend (guess which one?) and would NOT honor my special room rate, and I'd have to pay more than what I paid last year. I'm still not working, and couldn't really afford more than the special rate, so I'm sitting this one out. Of course, I'll be at DKP on Sunday with those of us who didn't go, and now I'll have more money for Irwindale and Fontana... have fun out there!

Thanks, Scott. Everyone knows I try to go to as much stuff as I can, but I was assured a $15 room rate, and it was obviously too good to be true.
As far as getting the word out, trust me, I have been telling lots of folks about the dyno session-- really looking forward to that!

Sorry, Tom-- it wasn't SCORE, it was another convention that the S@h@r@ decided to host... as for finding another hotel, it's not going to happen this late in the game, I don't really have the money to afford even 50 bucks a night... but thanks anyway.
Hopefully I'll be going next year, finances will hopefully be better by then... I'm sure everyone will have tons of fun!

Herb-- I heard about that from Nacho last night when he called me... Really sad to hear that can happen in a casino parking lot, with all the 20,000 cameras they have around there... When I stayed last year, I always tried to park near a camera in the parking structure, just in case... of course, nobody would want a car as ugly as mine! Glad you guys had a great time, I'll be out there next year... for now, I have money saved up for a new trans! |
