How about a bunch of us show up Friday night and wait in line. Bring the bbq and hang out. This way we will have some vw's in the front of the line.

It would be great to see nothing but VWs taking up the front of the line. We can start a midwest (Milan) chapter of FTG Racing...  Grin

wow that is cool.  I know there are some that don't like the show, but I do.  Its about the only drag racing on TV that shows real cars that real people can afford.  I'll rally the DdK, even if we all don't race, just make a showing or at the very least hang out and watch the taping.  If my ride is up and still going by then..I'll be there. Do they have an ET bracket that they only allow.  Seems to me that last All out race they had, I think it was taped in Texas, all the cars ran in the 10-10.50 range.  That would really thin out the VW field.

Its really all about what groups emerge....If you are one of the 1st 300 pre registered then you have a chance no matter what your car runs.

It bothers me greatly that Milan VW gathering is no more  Cry  I would entertain something to replace it. Keep me posted man~
Would like to keep an ALL VW midwest racing event in the midwest say once a month if we could do it. Maybe different tracks to accommodate travel for everyone. I think it would be good for all of us. For that matter, we ought to come up with our own track!  Grin

Why would you do anything that even looks like support for the Milan track after how horribly they handled the MI Bug out relationship?  The track owners have solidly cast their vote of non support and outright antagonism towards the VW community and the Rathbuns and we still have them in our vocabulary?  Milan should be a no fly zone for anyone who cares about the health and future of the hobby.  Sure this event may have free admission but by even setting foot on the grounds you are still supporting the folks who do not want you or your dollars.  Just a thought...

the wife said she was glad we did not make last year with what happened, and I agree with her

I am really sorry to hear and see what the track owner's have done about the air cooled crowd.

I had not planned to ever make it there but this might be a time to go.

Spoke with Nate from PINKS and he said that Milan is handling all pre registration. From Milan's page:

The day is near so be prepared.  Friday, March 9th at 4pm pre-sale tickets will be available.  Only 350 entries will be offered for racing, so pre-register quickly. Friday test and tune with event pre-registration will be available for $20. Pre-registration includes Friday test and tune as well as a no charge Saturday race entry. This competition is open to race cars, street cars, basically any "Door Car" out there. It must have 4 wheels, doors, pass tech inspection and run 12.99 or quicker to compete. Friday spectator/crew tickets will cost $15 and Saturday will cost $20.  A two day pass can be purchased in advance only for $30. Kids ages 2-12 will be $8 per day or $12 for the two days if purchased in advance.  “This show could very well be a spectator sell out!  I strongly suggest buying your spectator and crew tickets in advance.  We are very excited to host the Speed PINKS: All Out event at the track.  This promises to be an exciting event for all drag racers and Motor City racing fans” states Deneen Baxter, Vice President of Milan Dragway. To purchase tickets go to HERE or directly purchase them at our AutoRama display. Tickets must be paid for at the time of purchase.  Racing tickets are non refundable and non transferable.  ID will be required for racers at event check in.  Watch the website as the event nears for times and details.

i cant stand pinks......

especially after they made the only bug that i ever saw on the show take off its wheelie bars because it was too fast?Huh?  the honda team should have been SHOT for that suggestion........ and the host of pinks was being an jackass.  THEY SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER than to let that bug with that kind of POWER go down that track w/o wheelie bars....... it was an accident WAITING TO HAPPEN!!! the dude was lucky that he didn't die....... but when it happened i was WTF?Huh? are these people that f**king stupid...... i guess so......

so i boycotted pinks!!!!

and now you want me to join you guys at milan, after they just screwed us, and join you all with this pinks event?Huh?  IT'S TOUGH!!!!

Dude, wheelie bars had nothing to do with that accident.   Besides, Jason and Kris have cars with MUCH more power than that and they never used the sticks.  Even if the wheelie bars were the cause- they were negotiated away.....so do you blame the team that asked or the team that agreed?  Embarrassed

Its ok not to like a program, but at least make sure that your argument makes sense if you are going to be that caustic.  Roll Eyes
