i am going to put this here to have this posted in the events listings to. www.vwdragnight.comVW DRAG NIGHT 2009 July 11, 2009 Charleston / Greeleyville, South Carolina Come visit the low country of Charleston, S.C. and join us for a day and night of VW 1/8th mile drag racing and a car show. (The car show will not be judged and there will be no fee to park your car in the show area.) Midway Dragstrip will be the host track and is located 20 miles south of I-95 near Manning, S.C. There will be a minimum of 2 classes of racing (Super Pro and Pro) with a guaranteed purse (Super Pro $500/$300 / Pro $300/$150) and free t-shirts for the first 30 registered racers. Camping will be allowed at the track. Time trials will begin at 2 pm and run all afternoon and evening with eliminations beginning around 8 pm. Sunday the 12th will be the rain date at the same location. Admission is $15 and entry fee for the race will be $25 Super Pro and $20 Pro. (If there are enough cars for a heads up street class, water cooled class and/or a street/sportsman class those will be available as well.) On Friday night July 10th there will be a cruise in at Freshfield's Village located on Kiawah Island, South Carolina from 6-9. PlaneJane, Charleston's Favorite Party Band, will be playing a free concert in the park. Visit Freshfield's website for directions. John Jones of www.kustomcoachwerks.com is scheduled to appear with his VW Paradise powered Turbo Ghia. There may also be a newly built Turbo Split window to debut at the event! Details to follow. I am hoping to be there! Sounds like a great event. I will not know for sure until we get closer to the date, but others may want to get a group together for the ride down. Whoever is heading down from this area and north of here, maybe we can try to get some cars together to drive down. I have a Ford Explorer, but it does have a HotVW's sticker on it...if that counts  |

I have a feeling this could be trouble on Friday night before the race, I may need a fill-in driver??? ahhhh i will put the wife in the car....... That's my strategy! Get 'em drunk the night before so they have to send in the back up. Now I just need to get a car...LOL! |

The Red 69 is under some changes I am going to go EFI street turbo, I just need to get my Chit together and get it over to Marty's I don't think I have the time to finish it? with racing season starting up this weekend......even now the race car has no trans? the frontend and the wing are at paint>>>>> But I will be at DD running OutLaw Turbo, If it kills me, or my teammates and my sponsors, it will be ready...... |

a couple of new sponsors have signed on and they are listed on the website. also, looking at having a Quick 8 class. ron fleming and roger crawford and one other car from california said that they might make it over for the event. i hope that they do. if so and we have at least 8 cars we will establish a new class for them and have a good old heads up pro tree show down. cfm performance racing is giving one case of brad penn oil to each class winner. their website is listed on the www.vwdragnight.com site. more to come! |

i've gotten a couple more sponsors over the last few weeks. cookie is sponsoring the fastest MPH for the event. www.tunedperfection.com is also on board and they are also driving from canada for the event! eric madson is making the trip over with his vw paradise powered turbo ghia. even the lauffers from vw paradise are considering coming over with their cars! that would be outstanding. we have some cool dash plaques on order as well as new stickers with the event artwork. the info is updated regularly on the website. www.vwdragnight.comhave a great easter. here are the dash plaques:  |
