11th annual JFR Holiday Car Show brings joy to kids of SoCal

The holiday season is right around the corner, and once again John Force Racing will be giving back to Southern California with the 11th annual John Force Holiday Car Show Dec. 7. The Holiday Car Show began in 1997 and has gotten bigger and better every year. The car show will continue to benefit the California Highway Patrol's CHiPs for Kids Toy Drive.

Last year, John Force Racing received more than 8,000 unwrapped toys, and this year, JFR's goal is to equal that number and maybe even reach 10,000 toys.

The Holiday Car Show is held at the John Force RaceStation store beside the JFR shop in Yorba Linda, Calif. This year's show will begin at 10 a.m. and wrap up at 4 p.m. To get in for free, bring a new $10 unwrapped toy. There will be tours of the race shop and museum all day. Fans will be able to see thousands of John Force's personal collectibles, trophies, and race cars.

Hundreds of street rods, muscle cars, antiques, classics, motorcycles, trucks, boats, and race cars will be on hand. Featured vehicles will include Ashley Force's pink Rookie of the Year Ford Mustang Funny Car, Jay Leno's Jet Cadillac, Chip Foose's HemisFear, the Crazy Junk '34 Dodge truck, Barbie's pink Hummer, convertibles, and antique fire trucks. There will be vendors onsite plus In-N-Out Burgers.

Enthusiasts can also participate. If you have a great-looking hot rod, register at the JFR Web site here.

All the JFR drivers will sign autographs on the celebrity stage, including John, Ashley, Brittany, and Courtney Force. Funny Car drivers Robert Hight and Mike Neff will also be more than happy to give fans an autograph or pose for a picture. In addition to the drivers, Tom "the Mongoose" McEwen, car designer Foose, ESPN's Queen of Cars Genevieve Chappell, and country star Peter Brandon will be at the show. Brandon is an Orange County native who released his self-titled debut album in 2004 and has a new CD, Drive Real Fast. The Answer will be performing great classic rock tunes live on the main stage.
